I think dropping LPG, and the entry level trim models is a UK thing, I believe LPG and essential trim are still available across Europe, shame really
LPG option being dropped is global according to the sales alert. My 3 week old 4x4 Diesel Prestige. Just upgraded from a 1l LPG Comfort, which I loved, but this diesel seems to suit the car much better.
There's really not much at all that I don't like about the car. The steering wheel was very slippery when brand new, but seems to be wearing in well and becoming grippier. The stop/start was a total pain on the 1l, but works better with the diesel.
Things wot I like... the low cost. The practical nature of it (it was bought as a reliable utility wagon), the great stereo. The space. I think it looks great too, and will look even better when I get steel wheels and AT tyres on it. It's got a working trip computer ( the LPG version didn't have one) and my average is 46mpg so far. It's just a lot of car for the money.

Dacia are doing pretty well with their higher spec cars here, I imagine the hybrid variants with high specs to be popular here
Essential has only been dropped on the Sandero so far, but I can see it being dropped on the Stepway. Duster and Jogger before too long. As you say, I don't think many people go for the Essential level models.I would imagine they make more profit on the higher spec cars, so with the 6 month plus lead times for cars they might as well only build the ones that make the most profit.

How is stop/start better with the diesel? The 1l was a very quiet and smooth engine, and quite a few times I had it where the engine had switched off and I hadn't realised it, and a couple of times where the engine hadn't started for some reason when I depressed the clutch. I guess I didn't really trust the system.
I've not had any issues with the diesel, although I have only had it 3 weeks!
Had a Duster 1.5 T diesel for four years and loved it, needed a bit more room in the boot and went for a Logan Stepway to replace it, also a 1.5Tdiesel, would have liked a bit more torque like the Duster engine, but then this is doing around 60mpg and I have android auto, cruise control and air-con, so compromise I can live with. Expecting the Jogger to replace it if the numbers work for the hybrid version.
Mrs has just got in the build queue for a leaf to replace her Sandero stepway as her commute is now about 4 miles daily, and when it's the middle of winter of typhoon season she prefers not to ride her bike.
She would have gone for the Dacia Spring EV, but they are still deciding if it's worth doing a RHD version.
Given they sell in France for the equivalent of £11k apparently, I imagine they'd shift a substantial amount.

I was referring to the fact that its likely to be quietly dropped in the UK and not return when supplies are back to normal. At best I can see it becoming a cost option at the very least. Dacia are doing pretty well with their higher spec cars here, I imagine the hybrid variants with high specs to be popular here
When I purchased my Duster Essential, the lpg version was a cost extra. I believe they since increased the price of single fuel cars in line with lpg models so it appears to be a non-cost extra.Mark-t said:

How are you managing that? We've had ours five weeks now and are up to 56.6MPG brim to brim - 2300 miles.Going to change the oil in the next week or so, just had the right spec Castrol and a genuine Renault filter delivered today. I wouldn't have - not that I'd leave it till the specified 30k / two years - but for the thread on here with the crud in the filter. I cannot see how it can be good to leave that stuff running in.
I took a fleet shot yesterday, newest vehicle on fleet by 20 years - and 70 years newer than the next.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that whilst yours and mine are indeed a whopping 100bhp, the newer models are rated at 90bhp.
I don't know why though.
Emissions?
Could be standardisation plus an upsell opportunity.I don't know why though.
Emissions?
100bhp doesn't sound much but its adequate, 90 sounds a bit paltry. Reality probably feels about the same.
