Great job on the fitting of the head unit, looks very OEM
Cheers! As all the install is inside the head unit it is basically. I’ve got a few knicks and cuts to remember the install by as well! Edited by Carlos24 on Saturday 18th February 16:02
Todays little job was replacing the switches on the drivers door as it seems it’s pretty common to lose the silver trim pieces and I also noticed the switch on mine was slightly loose indicating it had been out in the past perhaps with not very much care taken.
Here’s how the original looked, I managed to remove it very easily due to the missing clip on one side.
And the new one fitted in place and all working correctly:
£35 with next day delivery on amazon and 5mins of my time with a trim tool to make a big difference to my eye at least.
I also fitted the correct size rear wiper as the one fitted was too long and just touched the rubber trim on the underside of the spoiler.

So the only thing I’ve noticed so far is that the cup holders in the front are absolutely terrible. They will not hold a bottle of cola (or whatever refreshing chilled beverage you prefer) without it toppling over at the first hint of a curve.
I looked into this and it seems that Porsche must have recognised that this is an issue and in a very Porsche way they provide a fix for the problem:
Porsche Tequipment Cayenne Cupholder Insert https://amzn.eu/d/cebZ68G
This is clearly a bonkers amount of money for 1 cupholder insert!
I found these on eBay though and ordered 2 for £30 and they do the job perfectly.

Another boring update but it’s all I’ve got currently! I’m still toying with the idea of a remap from darkside developments who say it will do 420-430hp and 750lbft or so.
Oh I almost forgot I stopped my arm rest creaking the other day with the aid of some sticky foam inserts. It wasn’t creaking bad enough to bother most people probably but I stuck these on at the hinge and the clasp end and no more creak.

Yeah they never really tickled my pickle until I looked into them a bit, When I did they were so much more appealing than the equivalent Range Rover / sport. The only place it falls down compared to the E63 is in the raw pace department but this car is every bit as quick as you could ever need one to be until licence losing speed anyways. It even sounds fairly good at tickover (arguably better than my friends F10 M5) and under load it sounds the part, the only time it sounds a bit diesely is when you’ve just started it at lower revs.
I’m not looking forward to replacing the tyres, currently it’s on cheaper tyres all around but they are 295/35/21 so it isn’t going to be cheap for decent ones when they wear out!

Hi , nice car we’ve had ours since new 2014 , on the subject of tyres yes they are bloody expensive but over the years I tried most brands some wear out ridiculous fast (yokohama) were awful. Best are unfortunately the most expensive, Michelin latitude sport best grip by miles and longest lasting , even in the snow , ice , wet conditions this morning were faultless even for a summer tyre , only problem is cost best part of £1000 for the 4 .
They are great OP, there's a long running thread on them here;

I've owned one from new, currently at 140k miles. Looks like this at the moment;

That’s the kind of money I was paying for 4 performance tyres on the Merc so at least I’m used to that as that one had a hunger for rear tyres. It’s good to know not to get the Yokohamas so thanks for that, I’ve also always fairly heavily favoured Michelin. I have seen the long running thread it’s one of the reasons that I wanted to get one! That’s definitely taking lightweight to the extreme looking at that picture.
I’ve also been really impressed with the Burmeister stereo, I’m not sure I would have been brave enough to spec it from new but I’m glad the person who spec’d mine did go for it… I would say out of the meridian that I had in my Jaguar XFR and the Harmon kardon I had in the Merc this is probably the best sounding one with really immersive sound and no distortion (to my tinnitus riddled ears) even at high volume

I put mine on Avon ZV7 earlier last year, approx 6k miles ago, no complaints from me, they feel stable and secure even in heavy rain and snow... I did get rid of the bling 21s though and fit a set of factory 20s, so I'm not on rubber band tyres and they "only" cost £720 for the fourI like the 21’s and the ride seems to be fine, I may change my mind if I destroy one at some point on a pothole though! I live by the sea in the north west so we don’t really get any snow to speak of but it rains a lot haha… I’ll have a look at those tyres though and see if I can get them in bling size when the time comes.
