Just wondering who has put their 488GTB on SoR rather than trying to sell privately?

I actually have a retainer placed on a 488 at the moment that is on SOR. It is with an independant dealer and not within the network.

I'd like more vehicles to be sold via SOR/privately.

Some of the dealer markup is getting silly. Especially when need to take car for an inspection before buying anyway.

Only thing stopping it is finance I guess.

Totally agree with AndyC_123.

I understand why some owners choose to sell direct to trade or at least try the SoR route - it's a lot less faff and hopefully a more straight forward sales process (ref finance etc).

Personally, I have always bought privately and would love to deal direct with a private 488 seller....if there is anyone out there.

I know that a recent trade bid from a well known indy, on a very well spec'd 2016 model 488 with circa 20k miles was £100k. Ferrari main dealers seem to be paying more as a PX value.

I tried to sell my 355 privately about 14 years ago and after a few viewings I gave up and just sold it back to the supplying dealer. Just too much hassle and Ferrari buyers are a fussy bunch.
My Scuderia I sold via SOR, which was fine as I did not need to do anything - was well worth the money imo

Different values I guess, but I sold my 348 and 360 privately (the 360 was in 2020)

Just to note you can still get finance on a privately owned vehicle.
I sold my Aventador S last year privately to an individual who got finance sorted through Aldermore bank, who most of the main/independent dealers and brokers use.

I am trying to buy a 600LT privately but 2 possibles sold to trade instead of accepting a higher offer from me (cash) and both dealers added a minimum £10k mark up. confused

Tried going the SOR route with another make at a dealer and markup they want is pretty strong. Talking 75% of what they want to return me ontop and suspect they want to market at a higher figure than they are indicating so could be 100% markup

I was a cash buyer last year and thought I’d pick one up private, ended up going franchise dealer in the end

Will probably end up here too, my second private seller sold to Top555 and they added £20k and sold it, still can't work out why seller didn't accept my £10k higher offer surely it's a win win ?

One of the worlds many mysteries that I’m afraid, as long as you get the right car for your budget that’s all that counts really, that’s how I looked at it in the end,,

For some people it is worth £10k to sell to trade knowing that if anything does crop up that they didn't know about then they won't have an angry private buyer harassing them or smearing them all over social media etc.

Not my style as I don't do social media being old school but I appreciate there are a lot of undesirables that would.
