Afternoon all

Can anyone think if there is a small estate (fabia size) that has 4x4 or RWD and a manual with over 200bhp?

Cant think of any but perhaps there are imports I dont know about.

Smallest i can really think of is an impreza estate

Could something like an audi S1 engine and drivetrain be somehow grafted to a fabia estate body?

Estates are very much a dying breed (sadly). Hadn't appreciated how much boot that had for a relatively short estate car at over 500 litres. I'll drink salt water afterwards but is an SUV an option? The Karok I think offers a 2L TSI and is only about 10cm longer.

Quite a niche request, I can't think of many cars as short as the Fabia which are classed as estates full stop.

The first gen BMW X1 (E84) is only about 20cm longer than the Fabia and came with a choice of 3.0 diesel or petrol engines...

(Although given it's based on the same platform as my E91, the boot space won't be great compared to the Skoda.)

Is there one dimension e.g. width that you particularly want to minimise?

not that much difference between a fabia and a cla shooting brake, but it depends if length is critical

Daihatsu Terios?

Only 135BHP, but that's scary enough IMHO.

I was thinking JCW Clubman. Looks kind of like an estate but the Countryman ha a bigger boot.

MINI Paceman can be had with 4wd and 200+ bhp and isn't especially big.

Someone mentioned the X1, I don't think they did the 6-cyls in RHD, but you can get the 2-litre turbo with enough power, and it is basically a 1-series estate (and you can un-crossover it with some cheap lowering springs).

If you look a few years back a bmw e30 325i estate might fit the bill? 170 bhp I think.

I don't know how old you're wanting to go back, but what about the A3 Sportback (04-11?) with the 2.0Tq or 3.2q?

Depending what you need this to do, I think this is likely the direction I'd be looking.

I'm pretty sure the Terios has never made that power? I'd have bought one if so!

The OP seems to have disappeared, so who knows? It's not the best-looking, but I've always thought the Yeti is probably one of the best all-rounders out there. Space, AWD, bit of go etc.

Mitsubishi Gallant vr6. If that's too big,
I seem to remember a lancer Evo estate too.
