It was sunny and warm today, the first this year.

Went out with the Brother in law.

LC looking stunning John, I would guess, from having an X5 yonks ago, a de-restricted 125LC is swifter if needs be, not that it matters much nowadays.

This was my lot with me in the faster group (there were two groups). The others were out in novice/slower inters when I took this. The guy on the MT10 was his first time back on track after a horrific crash in 2019 where a foreign rider hit him right next to me head on at IOM TT (And my mate got paid out a lot but it took years to sort)

Got some videos uploading which I'll get on YT at some point
Fair play to your mate for getting back in the saddle, how does he rate his MT10 on track?

Who has FAAAAAARRR better taste than youzzz rofl (X7 FTW!!)
Steve.

It's a X5.
Then you need to take him to the garden and smack the taste out of his mouth frown

Even back in my yoof, the 200cc variants were..... "mister....... why???"

wink

But shhhhhhh, don't tell anyone, I'm looking at a neat little YB100 at the moment....... don't have a foggiest why mind you..hehe

I think the 185cc, 200cc and 80cc bikes fell within certain insurance brackets and where considerably cheaper to insure than a 125 or 250.

Back in the day I had an AR80 as I couldnt afford to buy and insure a125 on my YTS money!

If I remember correctly , it was up to 100cc for one bracket and and up to 225cc for another, think most of us had the good old Norwich Union (and others ) rider policy!.

Cheers Bryan, yes the LC has the better of the X5, the Brother in law is mid 70's so there's not much "pushing on", its a nice gentle pace on the local back roads which is surprisingly
enjoyable.

Thanks Alan, finding the original full exhaust system last year has got the bike to where I’m happy with it. Now I just ride and polish biggrin

Today was dry, sunny and for the first time this year pleasantly warm. So out and about on the Speed Twin.

Warm, but a bit wet and muddy this weekend. I stalled it on this incline, and my boots had no grip whatsoever, so I fell over! and then again a couple of times when I picked it up, doh! MX boots have very smooth soles which are useless in mud.

AND the rear fender fell off, torn away by the weight of the mini-tool kit. I'm going to have to bolt it on differently.

I'm looking to get AS Tech 7 Enduro boots, are there any other dirt bike boots with a good grippy sole?
Another option is the Sidi Crossfire 3 with the enduro sole.

I've got the Tech 7 and while they're comfy, they're pretty useless in mud

Loves it! But he's comparing to a Fazer 1000 and before that late 00s GSXR 1000s etc

Really likes it though

Went for a long ride to the new forest on Saturday. Test ride a Guzzi Mandello.

Boxhill on Sunday, was cold and wet.

Nothing beats blokes standing around looking at bikes!

I saw (heard) a Guzzi recently. it was mid 90s at a guess and sounded awesome. Unfortunately I was in the car and could not get around the roundabout quick enough, but heard it go full chat. Guzzi always remind me of my dear departed CX500, like the grown up parent!

What did you think of the Guzzi? I love the look of them especially that new model.

Correct. A1065.

The tank has recently returned from a refurb. When I was last there it was missing from its plinth.

Looks cool, chinese companies releasing some interesting stuff. Benelli 502c is a pretty good looking baby diavel imo for example.

The 752S looked good to me. I saw rumours on the Internet that they were going to make it lighter and raise the output of the motor.

The CF-Moto CL-X 700 Heritage looks good to me.

It's unfortunate the CF-Moto version of the Duke 790 is so hideous, the NK 600 Z650 powered machine looks much better.

Have you noticed how many auctions there are now? We flicked through Old Bike Mart and nearly every page had an advert for another, almost one a week!

For me it's that Mk2 Lotus Cortina cloud9
