I think I’ve lost count the amount of times that company has gone under.

They have always been an absolute shambles at literally everything to do with windows and running a business!

Sorry, not going to get too much sympathy from me, the way they rip off older and more vulnerable customers is criminal. We had a quote from them once, usual spiel of some ridiculous starting price, then the sales guy phoning his 'boss' to see if he could do anything for us, started at £14k and lots of pressure to sign up on the day eventually dropped to £6kish by the end of the week by which time I'd found a proper local guy who did a great job at a fraction of the price. How many elderly etc would have agreed to the starting price though??

Presumably not enough if they have gone bust again!

It was perhaps widely expected after Everest 2020 was put up for sale last month but had no buyers with the administrators moving in on the 24th April.

We have seen the rapid consolidation of three established, national brands, to one in 6 months giving Anglican the monopoly. One thing that most of these administrations have in common is the business model that rely on mass volume at low margins, which is a risky strategy in a subdued market.

had a similar experience with them, i tried to get him to leave politely a number of times, in the end had to be quite rude. he had been there 3 hours!!!
ended up doing them myself. as couldn't face going through that again, was surprisingly easy

Same as us. Had to be quite rude to actually get him to go in the end. Used a local company in the end for about 2/3 of the Everest "discounted" price.

Good riddance. Same as earlier posters, I had the "pleasure" of an Everest sales person at our house. In the end I threatened the police if he didn't leave.

Quote for a conservatory and replacement windows started off at an astronomical figure, then gradually reduced with various "phonecalls" to his boss. Even after I explained I wouldn't go with them even if they were the cheapest option because they had tried to rip me off by £20k, he wouldn't leave. He seemed genuinely desperate.

Ditto for the only double glazing salesman I ever let in my house. Think it was £12k for a door and two small windows. Literally had to pick his bag up and put it on my lawn to get rid of him.

Everest 2020 Ltd biggrin - when the company name has a year in it be afraid!

I suspect an accountant is spinning up Everest 2024 Ltd as we speak and these guys will continue as before (minus liabilities of course).

Forty years ago a DG salesman came round at 8pm to quote for a new 5 section bay window. (Not Everest, can't remember the firm)

He wasn't impressed when the wife was out at Bingo.....laugh

He started off at £1600, and over the course of three hours came down to £400 after ringing his "boss" outside three times.

He kept using the phrase..."Hmmm, so the price is nebulous" (Whatever that meant)

I said "I don't need to speak to my wife I can make the decision"

I said "Anyway, how can you come down £1200 in three hours? (Obviously it was his commission)

He didn't know, but I was just about to put pen to paper, because the product seemed OK, when he picked up his sales kit, stormed out muttering "You've been wasting my time"

When the wife came back I said "Have you had a nice time?, and she said "Yes, I've won £400"

Remember that well and to be fair it’s quite a convincing ad.
