Auto headlights

Like many cars the Alpine has auto headlights. I find however they come on at the hint of darkness but remain on for many minutes after normal light returns. Other cars I have owned respond rapidly to changes in brightness both on and off. Is this something unique to my Alpine or another feature of the range? Maybe a software issue and fix?

I can turn of the auto headlights on mine, my 2020 legende, However if i turn off the car with auto headlight s on and main beam on, the headlights stay on, I have to go back to the car and flick the switch to dip then they will go out....As is the inability to turn off the auto lights function
Has anybody here had a lightbulb moment yet ?
My driver's side main beam on the lower light is no more. Just spotted it tonight and I'm sure it was okay at the MOT the other week. It doesn't affect any of the other lights as is sometimes the way with a bulb out.
Handbook just says consult main dealer (or should that be insult?).
Anyone changed a bulb yet?

When looking into fitting LED bulbs for another car, I read that, strictly speaking they were illegal because LED headlights came as a unit and you couldn't change the bulb - only the whole unit. If that is the case then fixing the headlight could be mighty expensive. Anyone know for sure?

I think you may be correct, never looked closely at the A110 but most cars with LED headlights do not have bulbs as such and a light source failing means that the whole unit needs replacing. There are specialists around who an disassemble and replace elements but most tend to work on only specific brands - doubt there will be anyone out there offering a service for A110s yetCockyj said:

They are LED headlights so there is no serviceable bulb. If they go bad, there's a whole unit has to be replaced and it's orders of magnitude more expensive than a traditional bulb.My driver's side main beam on the lower light is no more. I'd get it checked before you jump to any conclusions though. Has the LED really blown, or is it just a bad connection or blown fuse? LED lights are supposed to last the life of the car.

In theory, yes, in practice no. It's frustrating as have to replace several LED arrays over the year at £100s each instead of a £1 bulb. When it's a headlight you are easily looking at £1500+ each these daysI'd get it checked before you jump to any conclusions though.
