Scotland was on my list this year, this has confirmed it. Even has an element of Clarksons nostalgic tone when he did the v12v so 'hoon' maybe a bit too strong.

I really enjoyed this, especially his enthusiasm and the area obviously held some personal memories. We have just returned from a driving holiday in that area and based ourselves at the Fonab Castle hotel in Pitlochry, it is excellent with great facilities and safe parking. An unexpected bonus for me in the video was the n430 as I pick up my new one on 14th April.

Thanks for posting - what a cracking short film. I really enjoy the Henry Catchpole reviews.

That's nicely done and gets me looking forward to my next Scotland trip. smile
The old military road is not that great IME though I've done it a fair few times
NW Highlands has some MUCH better roads and even less traffic
He'd have enjoyed it more in a roadster wink

I'm heading up there in a couple of weeks (17th) . If the weather is good it will be great. If anyone fancies a weekend up there we can do an impromptu meet.

Quite wonderful. I'd love to drive up there (in a V8). A good 500+ miles from me, so the journey there would probably spoil it!

I tried to figure out the route using the video and this page from Evo, does this look about right?

Did that route last year .... Still raving about it. It's brilliant journey and this film describes it perfectly. Really is a ' must do'

Yes, that's it. You can bypass Ballater but you should visit, it's a beautiful little place and worth staying the night if you have time. Best of the route for me is up over the Lecht and down into Grantown on Spey.

No need to wink
some times we meander up through Northumberland
Others through the lakes

Indeed, I'm lucky to live about 45 minutes from the Lecht, that stretch of the 939 is a regular summer evening blast for me. Now I just wish I had an Aston to enjoy it in, the p1 is a bit too fast (to wring it out means very silly speeds) and the rs6 is too lardy really...
