I have a pronto remote with a basic setup and have recently bought the Sonos model for it from Pilote Films https://shop.pilotefilms.com/indexUS.php however I don't have a clue how to get this module onto my Pronto.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to do it myself?

Or are there any Pronto dealers that can help me Berks / Bucks / Oxon way?

Thanks

You will need a program called prontoedit, google should show where from. Lots of files and help can be found on remotecentral.com it is American based though so will need to know the equivalent American model numbers for your kit.
Am trying to teach myself how to use the software, so if you find something cool let me know.

If you go to the files section, you can download whole layouts and codes assuming someone has done one for your component. If you find codes for a Panasonic 42g20 please share as really struggling to find.

If you have sky plus I could send you a copy of what I have done to either use or tweak.

Mine is completely different with lots of different pages for functions. I only have the 980 though so not the screen size to play with that you have.
Is that one you've done yourself? If so your looking fairly competent already. First page I have is a favourites with links at the bottom for sports, movies, entertainment, and music.
All of these pages have the correct icons for the channels ie Tue channel 4 logo which when pressed enters a macro of "1 gap 0 gap 4" so that pressing the channels logo will take you to that channel. If you do this you must add a gap ot a delay otherwise the sky receiver will only see the 1 and the 4 with the middle digit occurring too quick for it too see it. Hope this makes sense.

Again the channel logos can ne found on renotecentral I think I got them of a chap called Adam hollerngsworth, or very similar.

Unfortunately I can't claim it as my own

I have an initial screen with 4 options - Sky, DF Box (my media server), Wii and Sonos

At the moment the Sonos button just turns on the amp to the relevant audio channel and that's it. I've bought a bolt on module to control the Sonos for the Pronto (50 euros) but I can't work out how to upload it.

I have an RFX9600 sat here and was about to add a TSU9600, will need hand-holding for an awful lot of the setup I suspect!

Unfortunately not, however we do have two people trying to their head around the things!
Have managed to program one before and was happy with the end result bit have since bought new kit so trying to teach it myself again.
Reason I'm doing it myself is that years ago I asked gprs a quote for the remote to he programmed for me and it ran to nearly £200!

I can't help much I'm afraid

I have found a guy on Gumtree advertising that he programs Prontos for £30 per hour. There was no number on the ad but I have emailed him, I'll let you know if he gets back to me

Right, this guy has got back to me and charges £30 for first hour within a 40 mile radius of OX15 then £20 per hour thereafter

Or £140 for 7 hours onsite outside of a 40 mile radius + .40 per mile on any mileage over 40 miles

I'm trying to get him over to me next Wednesday so will report back then.

Sounds cheap to me if he can do it.

That sounds very cheap to me, I hope he works out ok for you. Have you seen some of his previous work / layouts etc.

There are some very good ones out there, and some shockingly poor ones. The problem with Pronto (now defunct) is that it is infinitely variable in its layout. So if the programmer is to techy and not 'customer focused' you can end up with far to many buttons doing stuff you never needed or wanted.

Much the same as Crestron, I looked at a project recently and the poor client had to switch between two different screens just to have full control of his Sky HD box! rolleyes

Not sure if he is still around, but try Matt at Intelligent Living, he is well known here but I can not for the life of me remember his forum name.

Thanks and good advice

Plotloss sold it to me and set it up it up in the first place but he has disappeared off the face of the earth and is not responding to email or phone calls. His business line just seems to ring out.

That's not good news. I've been trying to get hold of him for a while with no joy.

If I can be of any help while we are all trying to get through to Matt, please let me know.

I tried calling him today for a chat and got the same thing. Just pinged him an email through his site.

We were in the same car club before we realised we were in the same business field. Installing AV and Home Technology.

I'm in the same boat with Matt, except that not only is he not returning calls and emails, but he owes me £1300 of kit and has done since last April.

He's still alive - I turned up at his house a few weeks back to try to get the hardware he owes me - but he seems to have decided he's not interested any more.

Anyway, I've been reprogramming my Prontos recently (never tried it before, but actually not too hard) so if I can give any pointers I'd be happy to - although I'm struggling with RS232 control at the moment.

Don't forget - if you don't have the source Pronto files you can't edit the config, and you'll have to start again. Obviously I was never given the source code, so it's been a start-from-scratch job.
