Hi im living in Braintree and wondered if there is any kit builders in my area
im trying to build a minotaur www.asci24.dsl.pipex.com/minotaur.htm
and i just wanted to hook up with like minded ppl that could guide me or share knoledge.
this is my first kit and i think i couldnt have picked a worse 1 , the kit has now been taken over by Pilgrim so at some stage they will sort it out but for now i have no help and no instructions, im figuring everything out on my own literally.
i know it will be worth it in the end but it seems a long way away right now
cheers stu

Can't come round and help as I'm in Portsmouth but can offer some advice.

Fighting against the unknown can be very soul destroying and many before you have walked away and left a project gathering dust.
Use this simple rule.
Make yourself 2 lists of jobs. A list of big ones and a list of small detailey bits.

Each session you do on the car try and solve a big job, if it is not going well leave it and always finish the session having complete a small job. You will go to bed knowing that even the small task has been completed to your satisfaction.
If you are anything like me you will come up with the answer to the failed big task whilst taking a shower the following morning.

Two more lists which could apply in the same manner are expensive jobs and cheaper ones, there's a great deal of satisfaction gained by knowing that you've done a great job for next to nothing, just cleaning and sorting out parts costs nothing but when they're ready for final fitting it's a good feeling

Hi Stuart,
I live in Sible Hedingham and have built a few kits, the last one being my current GTM LIbra. There are lots of people about building, many can be found on Locostbuilders.co.uk because that is the most popular build about.
The problem is the car you are building because there just aren't so many about. Feel free to e-mail me through my profile for a chat.

Sorry I can't help you, but the other guys view is spot on, and as Ferg says, Locostbuilders can really help you.
Visited your website, it looks nice, and you have done quite some work there, and noticed your side window glass problem not fitting.

Don't use glass, have someone cut you a Polycarbonate sheet, with the same shape, and use that instead of glass.

I always liked the Minotaur apart from a few design tweeks it really needs....

Good luck with your build, and if there is anything I can do, just get in touch

Ciao
Italo

Hi Guys thanks very much for your replys.
I do write a job list and i also realise that there are lots of little jobs and that for every little job i complete im one step nearer.
i think i have already given up on putting glass in the doors, www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=23&t=293383&p=1
im thinking that this isnt an everyday car and lots of kit cars dont have side glass so im toying with adding canvas/plastic side windows like caterams , that way they can be rolled up and stored in the very little space i will have.
im saving up for the engine at the moment prob this one www.enginefactory.com/375hp.htm
so for now im just doing body work.
i want to paint it myself (i have sprayed cars in the past, not fiberglass)
i am waiting to talkk to someone about the new paints available and if i will be able to use them and spray at home in my garage .
i have also decided that there is no point in an external door latch and will just put an internal door latch and alarm the car , with key fob locking , maybe some kind of override,
if i want perspex/Polycarbonate windows or something similar any ideas were i can get it shaped and bent?
Also Fuoriserie what design tweeks do you feel this car needs ? as im really interested
many thanks guys keep it coming
