Nicked

A teenager who led police on a high speed chase has been sentanced to two and a half years youth custody and banned from driving for six years. Paul Derek Shaw, 18, from Wrexham drove himself and four passengers at speeds of up to 100mph whilst trying to escape police. He was already on bail for another offence.

During the pursuit Shaw is alleged to have driven at speeds of up to 110mph including 90mph in a 30mph  zone on the wrong side of the road. The car was a G registered Ford Orion.

On a personal note he should have got 10 years, I have been involved in many similar incidents, one with fatal consequences. The little scroates don't give a toss for anyone, they simply play up to the solicitors, probation service and magistrates/judges, the majority of whom fall for it. Next chance they get they are out doing it again, at least prison has a 100% sucess rate, none have managed to re-offend whilst inside. Anyone who gets involved in that type of pursuit may as well walk down the same street with a shot gun firing it at the public. The sentences handed out to such offenders rarely, if ever reflects the danger they create, I can certainly quote at least 4 such offenders who have received paltry sentences only to be released and subsequently kill an innocent person whilst behind the wheel of a car,

The temptation to put them into a wall must be very difficult to resist.

You ought to foget about stingers, spend the money on some big old Scanias and bolt snowplough blades on the front, and do for 'em Mad MAx style.

Little twats.

I don't know what must go through their tiny little minds; perhaps they think it's just like playing the play station.
As has already been said, the only thing that stops these scrotes is to remove their freedom. Perhaps removing their appendages as well would be the best permanent solution.
Yes, that does include their reproductive appendage as they'll only go on to breed even more little scrotes that'll do the same thing.

I agree John. It also gives evidence for the green mob to restrict cars and spoil normal drivers enjoyment of motoring.

But who wants to spend £25K a year keeping the little
rascals inside ?

I don't.

In my view first offence, a bit of community service,
second offence, a bit more community service,
third offence, throw the book at them. Chop the
little rascals hands off. Cheap & effective.

Bit inflamatory, eh ?

An acquaintance of mine caused total £6,000 of damage
to five cars after a game of real life dodgems
after a few too many beers.

Three years after the event, the innocent owners
get a hundred quid each off him, and he gets a
paltry two year driving ban, which won't
bother him cause he usually drives around
without tax & insurance and to top it all
a mere 40 hours community service.

I think a couple of years national service & fifty lashes
might make him behave a bit.

Hmmmm, 110mph, 5-up! If my brakes are anything to go by he wouldn't have stopped that in a hurry!

I didn't think there were any Hurricanes or tornados or particularly strong winds recently!

Seriously though, I have had 110 out of my 1.4, but that was really pushing it, a G plate 1.8 would have made 110 easy, but it is seriously dangerous at those speeds, especially in a built up area!!

He should get life, It's just plain stupid! Little F*cking Scrotes!

Kill 'em, kill 'em all!

This is what pisses me off. A concrete cell and bread and water doesn't cost 25k a year.

Outlaw,

This is not a forum for directed personal abuse. We may or may not agree with the opinions of others here, but we should be courteous enough to respect them and understand that that is exactly what they are i.e. opinions.

I personally have a number of issues with various aspects of road law and its enforcement. I have used this forum to air these opinions and I have often had my questions answered by John and others that are members of the force.

I have found your comments interesting and would like to continue to hear them, so please continue in your distinctive enthusiastic fashion, but please refrain the directed abuse.

At teh end of the day, ISTM that it doesn't matter whether he gets 1 year or 10 - he's still highly likely to re-offend once released..

The cost of incarceration is very high, but we're getting very poor value for money.. the system doesn't work - it doesn't prevent people re-offending either by enabling rehabilitation, or as a straightforward deterrent.. in most cases, once someone's been inside, they're no longer frightened by it and their whole life outlook changes..

the entire penal system needs to be overhauled.. and exempted from the clutches of the ECHR.. otherwise, there'll be no amputations or electric shock therapy..

They should just break the little shits legs then stuff an irate ferret down his trousers - that's teach him. (At any rate the chances of him fathering any other scrotes would be greatly reduced).

The question is, then, can we think up a 'reasonable' alternative that won't have the "I dont have enough on my mind without jumping on some liberal cause and shouting about something I dont understand" brigade on our backs? I have no doubt they're all the same people who go "the police aren't doing anything about x,y or z", shortly followed by "oh, but we live in a humane society and can't possibly harm the poor misguided individual who didn't mean to cause trouble". stupid, media-led tossers. god it pisses me off. a lot

personally Im with the whole corporal punishment threat route....it would certainly cut down on the "Im bored, lets go wreck a car cos the telly has told me repeatedly I cant really get done for it" type of crime. but normal people just don't go for it.

come on - ther MUST be something decent between prison, death and wasted money...isn't there? Do the police forces have any ideas....?
