What type of games do you like
PGR3 is a first and you can get it cheap. Not many 360 games I like but Test drive unlimited is great. as is dead rising. that would be my first 3. then i also want just cause but cannot say how good it is as I don't have it yet. but it looks very good. Also ghost recon is good but not played it since TDU
hope that starts you off

Depends what you like playing
CoD2 or GRAW for shooters.
Oblivion is probably the best/largest single player RPG going at the moment, easily 200 hours.
I also have Battle for middle earth II, bit odd RTS on a console, works (almost), & Hitman which I havnt played all that much.
I have PGR3 too, its OK.

Project Gotham - very good.
Ghost Recon _ again top game
Moto GP 06 _ never played this before but have it and really enjoyed it
I'll give you 4 out of 5

Never played pc version of Battlefield. Most games like that would be better on pc, but I really like it on the 360.
Dead Rising is really good. Brilliant weapons!!!! The garden parasol is hilarious, as is the cooking oil!

Call of duty 2 (although 3 is on it's way too) Lots of fun on Live
Had that - good FPS - a touch difficult until the controls become second nature, but worth playing.
(i'm going to sell my copy incidently, so if your interested mail me! oh, have tony hawk going too!)

Elder Scrolls 4 - Oblivion is huge and very pretty but for a particular taste I suspect.
Its a RPG type thing - never played one before - but I dedicated 90 hours of my life to this game - utterly, utterly fantastic. Looks stunning, so much to do.

Quake and Prey are both pretty fair too.
Phil
Prey I completed in a couple of days, wasnt that impressed tbh...
If you sign up to xbox live (you get 1 month free) you can download demos (if you have a HDD) and see what you like..

I loved Call of duty 2, managed to finish the game on veteran but takes time, personaly dont think much of PGR, handeling too arcady and online people just use you as a brake sending you into a wall which p1sses me off no end. test drive unlimited is limited! its gets very boring once you have completed all the single player races/challenges, which is a shame as the concept is brilliant. Oblivion is superb, but commitment is needed!!
The downloading of demos is your best bet, you get a decent go on the game and can decide for yourself if you like it or not.

COD2 is a cracker. But after running through it once on Veteran I haven't been tempted back by the storyline at all, the best online multiplayer FPS the 360 has to offer though in my opinion.
I actualy prefer Perfect Dark online for FPS, a bit slow but 32 online players at once battling it out in the desert with sniper rifles! just love it, although i should add as not a popular game with mag reviews!!

I did enjoy PDZ a lot, it was more the aiming speed that got me, no matter how I tweaked it, it was never as slick as COD2 was, I think being spoiled by mouse and keyboard FPS' you notice it even more. COD2 was pretty much spot on though in the aiming stakes.
