Some of the worst driving I've seen on public roads in ages.

Driving on the A19 towards York this morning and we noticed a silver Porsche 911 Cabrio (reg EDP *V) coming up behind us at speed. It overtook us, very nearly hitting us when it pulled back in. it then proceeded to try and squeeze past every single gap in the (busy) flow of traffic to press on. I counted three separate occasions where it narrowly missed oncoming traffic, one of which the oncoming car had to skid onto the pavement to avoid you.

In the ten or so miles we tailed it, it managed to advance about eight cars ahead of us, and we didn't overtake a thing.

Was he trying to show off or what?

We were in an Audi RS6+ Avant - a car that would see his off with no trouble at all - but we didn't feel the need to drive like to$$ers and endanger everyone else. We stuck to the speed limit (at most) on a road where conditions meant anything more would have been foolish.

So, Mr. Porsche driver, well done for showing yourself up!

It was about 9:30am-10:00am, and the sole occupant (AFAIK) was the driver, a chap in his mid-30's (or so).

Once he reached the roundabout near McArthur Glen Outlet he didn't seem in such a rush, indeed we 'passed' him we headed onto the A64 and he tootled round the roundabout.

Tend to agree, no need to put it on the police radar. It may have been just one daft overtake... then you realise you have looked a bit of a tit, so try and get as much distance as you can in front to justify the original move. Not usually wise and doesn't usually work.

hehe Yeah, I should have added that bit! hehe

I made the mistake of putting a similar post on the Porsche forum too, just in case the chap in question frequented that forum (reasonably forseeable that he might). Big mistake!

I'm not sure if everyone is ultra-sensitive in there at the moment, but they didn't take too kindly to being informed that a fellow Porsche enthusiast could drive in such a way. I never meant it asbeing a pop at Porsche drivers - my last car was a Porsche and I loved it - but that's the way they took it. Some kind of underlying insecurity perhaps?

As for the Porsche driver, it was never my intention to get him into any 'official' trouble, indeed my word alone couldn't do that. Rather I just was hoping either he or someone who knows him would see the post and he'd realise that he was indeed driving like a numpty.

rolleyes typical reply - if your going to make these statements try actually getting the facts

He was holding a pasty - and the speed was nearer 150
