Off to the 'ring later today
15:00 Dover - Dunkerque, stopping in Liege and hope to be at the Nurburgring about 12:00 Sunday 4th.
If weather's pants, I've allowed Monday pm (open from 17:30 according to website).
Maybe see other PH'ers??
Mines the ruby red Chimaera - maybe blast past a few dancing donkeys on the way to the Brands W/E ??

Funny you should say that.... We're gonna stay over that side of the channel till the weds/Thurs & the idea of a trip to the 'ring may have crossed my mind.
Someone else no doubt thinks we're going down to Annecy .
Might have a peek at the 'ring webite to see if any public days tie in.
Lot depends on the weather tho'.

fortunately me griff 500 held up well all weekend...
better than the last time, but thats another story!
nice to see other pistonheaders at the ring again,
must get a sticker on the car.
hope the bills not too high for the mis-fire
andy
PS the light conversion on yours looked great. probably do it to mine next year.

I'm up for this. Was planning to leave for France on the Tuesday and spend a few days before Folembray just relaxing
we're not going over to France until the Friday night (doing the TVRCC day at Cadwell during the day - gonna be catle trucked by the time I get to the hotel bar ), gonna come back home on the Weds/Thurs.
BTW, ,how did you get on at silverstone? Saw your motor around but too far up the pitlane from us to walk in that heat. I got held up a LOT, too many cars per session IMHO. Enjoyed it all the same.
Ian
Just looked at the 'ring opening times:
Open all day Sun 15th. Think my head probably won't be up for an early start on Sunday morning after the Sat night !
open 1215 to 1930 Monday 16th, sounds good tho'.
Rest of the week is evenings only.
Michellin site reckons 4.5 hours Folembray to Nurburg, so how's travelling over after check out on Sunday sound?

I'm booking my own crossing (on Chunnel) due to being late on Fri 'cos of Cadwell & coming back later in the week.
I may have a problem tho': If the Griffs not back from the bodyshop in time, BIG 'if', then we'll take the missus 106GTi. Should be fun around Folembray on some sticky rubber but would probably get swallowed up at the 'ring. It's also even more tail happy than a Griff if you back off mid corner, so not the best for an unfamiliar circuit with lots of blind corners!
Mind you I'm looking at a replacement for the Mondeo at the moment & this trip might have some bearing on the choice.....

My mate had great fun with his Saxo VTS, just some minor exhaust/air filter mods so not far off standard power and only felt slow in a couple of places. Also on one trip in my Impreza, had a lap with a 106 gti which was dead quick as standard. Through the twistier stuff I was fighting to keep up, but he did admit to knowing the place well!.
In other words, don't see why the Ring shouldn't be fun in a 106, as long as the wife agrees!
