I am a member of TheTimes wine club, so I buy online from them, there have been a couple of faux pas where I did not agree with their assessment of the tasting, but on the whole extremely happy, would never buy beer online as I do not drink it.
I get a case of mixed reds from them every three months, I've not had anything that hasn't been at least good. I've bought a few odds and ends from them separately too. Now they phone up every few months to offer me some interesting cases based on what I've bought before, but I keep having to decline because increasing my wine consumption is at odds with ongoing attempts to lose some lard.I generally buy wine from Virgin Wines, they seem to do OK with choice and price and I'm getting to know what I like.
I put £20 a month into their 'wine bank' scheme, and every 3 months they add another £20 and I'll spend the £80 on a case of mixed wines which are good enough to share with friends, but not so expensive I feel I'm wasting really good stuff on people that won't appreciate it.
Anything special I'll make a trip to a small specialist near my parents.
As for beer, I live 20 mins walk from this place and pop in to get a few bottles every now and again.

Occasionally buy wine online. Probably around 80% of my wine purchasing is done online. I just don't buy that often these days hence 'occasionally' not 'regularly'
As for beer, same again really, but I don't go out of my way to get that and probably wouldn't unless it's something special. I only really drink abbot ale, corona or budvar and it's not very regularly so Tesco direct does me fine.

I tend to taste wines then buy by the case at the best price I can find, either in a shop or online. Same goes for en primeur as well. As for beer, I intend to start buying that online too, as there's a whole range of beers available which don't feature in the supermarket.
