Ahhh... a free afternoon and I can't quite lose my love for the Dead Kennedys.

There was a time when I thought they were just a bit too noisy. (silly me)

This has got to be one of the most measured and well implemented 'punk' songs of all time.

Dead Kennedys Holiday In Cambodia I just bloody love it.

Later we'll get onto the Ramones - the greatest pop band?

So, post up your favourite songs before I let rip with Alice Donut, Fugazi, Buthole Surfers, Scratch Acid, Rape Man, and maybe a bit of Big Black....

Lets get the consternation out of the way early.

Captain Sensible - Happy Talk.

Some might say the most punk song of all time...

That was fantastic! Have never heard it before.

The style is reminiscent of the Velvet Underground's 'The Gift' with added Jim Morrison darkness and Iggy Pop anger.

Brilliant!

Glad you like it! clap I saw that band live many many times, I just wish I could pop down to the local and see them again.

I'm just hunting for some similar material that is worth posting. Be right back.

My favourite band when I was at school, took my first beating from a load of casuals after one of their gigs at Hitchin Youth Club at 16 years of age.

Ok maybe not as 'classic' as others, but Alkaline Trio's cover of Exploding Boy by The Cure is up there for me smile.

The Ramones were never a punk band, just a jazzed up 'Grease' soundtrack.

I think it was their molto allegro fast style which was adopted by the punk bands.

They pre-date 'punk' even in the States by a year at least. yes
