I have a 2 year old Olde English Bulldogge bh. I took her over the local school field (which I have permission from the caretaker to use) today, I take her there because you rarely see other dogs and we can get on with playing. She's great with people and kids (but boistrous) and up till today ok with dogs too. Basicly she ran over to a young guy with a bh on the lead and attacked the bh. She bumped into this bh the other day and the bh chased her about a bit and my dog submitted, we got her on the lead and then she had a go at the bh. Today however she ran a good 50 yards and just attacked the bh! Me and the other owner had a bit of a row (although I had no right to have a go, I was just a bit shocked) and I got baylea on her lead and took her away.
So now I'm stting it incase this becomes a regular thing or worse she does it to a person/child. so I'm going to get her a muzzle (which she will hate) as she need to run as she has so much energy. I don't really know what anyone can tell me but I am so shocked as she's such a lovely dog .

She doesn't look like a full Old English ... you sure she isn't part pitbull? You know the repercussions of that right? (DDA http://www.endangereddogs.com/EDDRAmendmentAnniver...
Do you have her pedigree and registration details? You may need them if the other dog owner reports your dog

Old english bulldogs seem to vary a lot in how they look, she actually looks more like the American Bulldogs we see bred in our area! They do tend to be feisty with other dogs.
Nice looking dog but potentially dangerous if she starts thinking this is the way to behave, did she socialise a lot with other dogs when she was a pup?

she looks quite leggy for a Olde English. Almost more like a victorian. At 2 she should be filling out a little but then all dogs are different.
She certainly doesnt look big enough to be an American nor a pit!.

Regarding the behaviour. Bulldog bhes are just as likely as any other breed to have aggresive tendancies toward other dogs. Mine goes batty until she is introduced. Once introduced she is best buddies with any dog.
I agree that training or a bahavourist may help, or just keep her on the lead or traing her to come straight back.

I would go and apologise to the other owner for starters - and tell them you accept that you shouldn't have had a go but you were shocked. That of itself may well cool down any situation which might arise. So now I'm stting it incase this becomes a regular thing or worse she does it to a person/child. so I'm going to get her a muzzle (which she will hate) as she need to run as she has so much energy. Bear in mind that as your dog was off lead you are in breach of the Dangerous Dogs Act. When they met before did they fight at all, were they introduced? She might have just been getting her attack in first, remembering what happened before with this dog...
What breed of dog did she attack? Is she in season? Was the other bh?
Is your dog insured? Was the other dog injured?
I don't think it is terribly likely that she will attack a person, it sounds like dog aggression (she didn't attack the owner of the other dog I take it).
My 7yr old male border terrier has recently started to attack some other dog's too.
Upto 8 months ago he was fine, he either wanted to play or just ignored other dog's. He then started to get agressive when on the lead when my girlfriend was walking him, mainly with a large local alsation! Since then he's had a couple of full on scraps with a couple of dogs. He never used to be like this and it almost seemed to happen overnight?

Right, thanks for your post peeps. We know her mum is defo old english and her parents owners swear blind her dad is too however we always thought he was a bit too stocky, we say she's old english because thats what we were told she is but her brothers and sisters are alot shorter and stockier.
The dog she attacked ran a long way when off of the lead the night before at the same location, she chased Baylea about a bit, Baylea submitted. We got Baylea on the lead and she then had a bit of a snap and growl at the other dog (who is called Lexi by the way), we chatted to the owner and off we went. The other dog looks a bit staffy although I am sure she has pit in her (pink mouth and nose).
Baylea is quite well trained. When she was younger we had a trainer come round who is part of the Jan Fennel group, it was very expensive and we didn't see any results. Since then she has had 1 to 1 training which included socialising with other dogs and she is a 100% better. She heals off of the lead, she returns on command and does everything you would expect a well behaved dog to do.
She is registerd although not being a pedigree its not with the kennel club. I will dig the cert out and have a look.
Baylea is much better behaved with the mrs than me so I'm not convinced she would have done this if it had been the mrs taking her out.
We are going to get her a muzzle tomorrow and shes not been off the lead since. We consider ourselves responsible dog owners although she is our 1st dog and we're obvously still learning.
Ps the other dog didn't look injured and we had Baylea spayed at 6 months, thanks again.

I have a Doberman which Has problems like yours ie attacks wither dogs . It's a bit fked up as since he wal little he was having a go at much bigger dogs . You can try a club to meet dogs regulary but you may find they don't want dogs thy may attack other dogs .
It's just one of those things , you will have to walk her on her own all the time .
Mine actually is really good with other dogs after the 5 minutes when it wants to eat them .
