I know this may seem trivial but today it really pissed me off. I feel compelled to come here and write about it. I told my OH to remind me when we get home and sure enough she did.

I borrowed my fathers 2007 Honda Accord today. 4 door, not that it matters. It was raining all day today. I had the window slightly cracked (no rain guards).

Someone please explain to me how in the year 2013 a car company, especially one with the reputation of Honda, cannot make a decent rain (water) channel around the window frame to prevent massive amounts of rain water leaking in onto my arm and all over the doors arm rest and window switches?

Seriously. Is it that hard to make a proper channel so that the water funnels around the frame of the window and NOT drench me inside!

This goes for my mothers 2008 RAV-4 and the 03 Audi A4 I once owned.

Weak rant, I know, but it seriously SERIOUSLY gets me mad.

Rant was reined in, and definitely guttered towards the end.

I recall my dad's 1976 Cortina having a channel that would have stopped half the Thames from rolling off the side of the roof.
The problem is that they weren't especially aesthetic, and too much function over form for today's vehicles.

Yes. Surely all Accords have air con?

Ah, it's all about aerodynamics and wind noise.

I find a great solution is not to drive around in the rain with the fking window open.

Would there have been less water ingress if the Honda had been going uphill? laugh

My Honda CR-V was terrible for this. When you braked, collected water actually flooded in.

So let me get this right, you drove about in the rain with the window open and then wondered why you got wet?

My brother's Westfield has the same problem, except water comes in everywhere with the roof up. Expected in such a car.Don't blame Honda, blame yourself for being daft enough to drive in torrential rain with the window down, what else were you expecting?

I rarely ever use air con and I got less wet in my MX5 with the roof off in a downpour than I did in the Honda with the window cracked.I like my window open and even many soft top roofs have rain rails to allow this. It's also handy for smokers!

The sun is shining, I'm driving the wife's Honda Jazz (Not through choice) and I'm thinking, give the air con a rest, and open the windows to feel the wind on my face. It's warm, and I am care free as I drive and life is good...

Until from fking nowhere, the heavens open and the fking rain is coming down in buckets. I reach for the switches to get the fking windows up as quick as I can and what the fk? The switches are wet, the arm rest is wet, and now my fking hand is getting a drenching from the flow of fk wit water that's pouring down the door frame because of the poor fking design. What the fk is that about. This doesn't happen with my own 72 model Vauxhall. fking rain and water stay outside the fking car cos it's got fking gutters for fking crying out fking loud. Before the windows were up, my hand, my arm, and half the fking interior of the car were saoking fking wet. For crying out loud, I can wind my windows up fking faster than the fk wit Honda can get it's glazing up. fking modern junk. fk!

I think the rant should be

"Why when it's raining when you open the door on a modern car the water off the roof spills straight into the car"

This is a major gripe of my better half. i don't find it a problem with my MX5 as I only drive it when it's not raining!

I can't understand why you want to drive with the side window down when it's raining? or infact why have the windows down at all? Air con is king at keeping the windows clear and you cool (but is it easy to be cool driving a Honda lol)

I find the aircon is crap in my MX5 when the roof is down! hahaha
