Great comedy moments of Formula One.
Discussion
To try and forget the media rubbish over the last few days and Bernie's Bond villan approach to the sport I thought I'd start a thread with some classic moment from F1.
One that always makes me laugh to begin with. The day Eliseo Salazar took out Nelson Piquet at Hockenheim.

Taki Inoue - Budapest. Pulls off the circuit with terminal failure. Jumps out of the car... and gets hit by the safety car!!!
Jean-Denis Deletraz - Every single lap he ever did in an F1 car
David Coulthard - Spinning on the warm-up lap of the Italian GP
David Coulthard - Hitting the pitlane wall as he was on his way in for a stop. Can't remember the GP.
Nigel Mansell - Reversing down the pitlane after he overshot his slot. Then ignores the black flag and shunts Senna off the track!!!

Though of another one.
Nigel Mansell has the BIGGEST, MASSIVEST bruise on his forehead. It's covered by a loosely fitting Williams/Canon baseball cap. Murray Walker is interviewing him and asks him to take off the cap so he can 'have a look'. He then proceeds to poke Mansell's bruise and Mansell nearly screams like a girl in agony. Murray says 'sorry'. Nice one...

Martin on his grid walk. Asks a Scandy driver (can't remember which one) if he was watching Schumacher get his award:
"No, I was having a sh1t."
It was Kimi Raikkonen...couldn't have been anyone else really "No, I was having a sh1t."

Got to be Montoya spinning it on the grid in Australia:

This was pretty funny on a day when everyone was making silly mistakes in the pits. That guy with the airgun wasn't going to let anyone stop him.

If you get to see this one its a simply superb piece of reversing. He didn't ignore the blackk flag though, its just from his viewpoint, whereupon his feet were within inches of Sennas gearbox for lap after lap, he couldn't see the flag!
Senna had the clear view of it, I couldn't beleive it when he decided to chop Mansell and they both went sailing off into the gravel at 3 million miles an hour.
Great days.
Gerhard Berger (incidently a massive Mr Bean fan) was always up to funny stuff in the pits at Grand Prix.
This is the only bit of film I could find, it's Gerhard sitting in his new Benetton car for the first time, doesn't like the view in the mirror so tries to adjust it. But breaks it off.

Gerhard once threw Ayrton Senna's briefcase out of a helicopter when they were team mates at McLaren, "It's damage proof!" "Is it? Lets see!". In retaliation Senna stole Berger's wallet and had all the credit cards bolted together, so Berger put 99 live frogs in Senna's hotel room, Berger knowing Senna was such a precise and slightly anally retentive person would assume there would be 100 frogs and Berger knew he would search his room until he found the 100th. Senna told Berger that he had that it took until 2AM to get rid of all the frogs, to which Berger asked "what about the snake?"
He also taped a picture of some rather large and perfectly formed breasts on Senna's passport photograph once, not helpful when trying to get through some strict passport control
There's loads more.
But the last one goes to Nelson Piquet. Nelson walking down the pitlane in front of Senna's garage wearing a t-shirt saying "Nelson Piquet, Brazils fastest straight driver"

An extremely expensive carbon fibre briefcase at that. AS was so proud of it.Also tenuous to the sport, the legendary and possibly true (it was told by the man himself) story of a driver being pulled on the M25 for going at considerable speed.
Copper: "Who do you think you are sir? Nigel Mansell???"
Driver, with contempt: "No. I am Ayrton Senna"

I always thought he had glued all his credit cards to his coffee table. Either way - genius. He also taped a picture of some rather large and perfectly formed breasts on Senna's passport photograph once, not helpful when trying to get through some strict passport control
