Right, thought I'd put some pictures up of my newly acquired cars, but also after some ph advice for what to do to them. Just turned 18 so after a year of driving this my insurance means I can buy something that moves!

Decided to go for something a bit off the wall compared to the usual hot hatches - plumped for an Audi A4 1.8T S-Line (190hp version!). It's got RS6 Alloys, a fridge in the glovebox, and goes like st off a shovel compared to the clio, so I bloody love it!

However I am not sure whether to leave it standard or modify it; nothing too mental, but I'm thinking a remap, black grill etc?

Friend of mine told me she had inherited a car the other day and hated it. 300 quid later and I'm the owner of a fairly doggy but mechanically sound 75k golf gti 5dr!

The two together:

Clueless what to do with the Golf, restore to it's former glory, strip it and make it into a track car, slam it and make everything black?

Any ideas much appreciated!

Golf, strip and track it.

A4 a remap and induction kit (just for the noise)

That is all I would do

Is the golf the 8 valve? As in 115bhp. I'm not sure I'd go down the track route with that.

Any idea how much induction kits are? Yeah golf is the 8v version, still fairly quick though!

Have you considered red LED lights in the style of DRL's? wink

haha, I've always thought aftermarket LEDs on pre-LED Audis look wicked sick cool, making them red would be incredible! wink

You can't do it though, your cars not a 12 plate. You fail at life.

That makes you a sort of pimp/drug dealer kind of gangsta legend.

Audi is nice, I'd just remap it and leave alone. As for the golf I'm going to be unkind I'm afraid - that was pretty much the least desirable GTi model ever made very heavy, lots of money to get any meaningful power gains, understeer city on circuit unless you sort the suspension. Clean it and sell it and if you want a track day car start with a better (lighter, more tunable) base car, it'll save you money and agg in the long run.

In fairness on Saturday I handed over a 12 plate Countryman in white with black alloys; true drug dealer spec. If i was 38 I wouldnt be cool but cos im 18 that makes me so cool lol smile

Notanotherturbo cheers for the feedback, A4 could definitely be quicker! I have heard the MK4s are a bit st but didnt realise the same would be said of a mk3! It is fairly doggy so perhaps a good clean would be a better idea. Still the child inside me wants to get a can of satin black and go mental...

track the golf, sorted suspension and 115bhp is another to learn, ok it wont set the world a light but it also means if you bin it you couldnt care less!

MOT and polish the Golf and get it sold for as close to £1k as possible, definitelty do not use it as a track car as it will cost the same as a decent car and it will be crap. Remap and K+N the Audi (but keep the standard parts somewhere safe) and as for appearance Id leave it the way it is, you want to stand out but you already will, being 18 and driving a subtly modded petrol turbo A4!

THIS

Clean and flog the 8v ... it will be a rubbish track car and a money pit when you realise its slower than everything at every track and want to make it faster.

Keep the A4 clean ... plus a little lowering

I think having a track car which is miles slower than your daily will do your nut in!

Had not thought about that! Hmm ok thinking of simply bringing the golf back to life. Now considering gloss black alloys for the A4 though...

Leave the alloys alone mate, and get the Audi remapped smile
Nice step up and more sophisticated than the clio, black alloys will only give you the wrong type of attention IMO,especially as your young...friend of mine went from a civic to a 1.8t 190 got it mapped after 3 months. He's had it for 2 years now and said mapping it was the best mod he's done.
