Bought my red Fiesta ST in June last year, 2006 plate with 14k miles on it. Previous cars include a MK4 fiesta which was stripped out, had a 1.7 Puma engine and orange wheels eek That then went as I had a company car for two years, a 1.6 Volvo C30 in black which was nice but also dog slow. When it was time to send it back, the ST was it's replacement. I'll cut this down to what I actually remember happening.

First impressions, quick, fairly comfy and handled well although the arch gap had to go. Set of Spax 40mm springs were then fitted

Black wheels (well Ford Graphite Grey to be precise) then followed as well as the removal of the white side stripes as they had marks and sections missing

Then went a bit mental, bought some Gaz coilovers send hand and basically 'decked' the car as well as doing some other little things like fitting mud flaps, paiting plastics satin black, etc

Then I headed over to JamSport in Northampton and had a full Miltek (4-1 manifold, de-cat and cat back) fitted along with a custom remap (already had a K&N filter to replace the stupidly restrictive airbox), not sure what power the car made with these but it could be between 160-180.

Stayed like this for a few months before I got bored again. Gaz coilovers were replaced with Eibach springs and standard shocks as I was doing a lot of motorway miles and the coilovers drove me nuts (plus I think the fronts needed servicing which I didn't realise until I had removed them)

Stayed like this for a while but once again I got bored, the Eibachs sat too high for me and I went and bought some AP coilovers instead, along with respraying the wheels silver and replacing the now chipped satin black plastics with new Ford items

Then things went slightly mad...

New wheels, Team Dynamics Pro Race 3 in gloss black and pre-facelift headlights

Rear windows tinted slightly

Decided I wanted more power so found a 2nd hand JamSport stage 2.5 supercharger and cosworth inlet and headed down to JamSport again to get it all fitted along with a custom map

Made some nice figures, 267bhp and 211 lbft as well as some rather nice sounds!!

Then I fitted some new suspension (yes again), a Bilstein B12 kit which I have to say, compared to everything else i've used it's by far the best out there imo

and made a temporary heat shield as the engine bay gets rather warm now

that's pretty much it! Have now plumbed in the oil catch tank to replace the breather filter, have finished off the front bumper so I can put the grill surround back on and am trying to replace the supercharger hoses one by one with black items. Have a Stack boost gauge fitted to keep an eye on things, hoping to get oil temp and oil pressure gauges soon as well.

Oh and the inter cooler is now black (ignore the drivers side head light, wouldn't fit right because of the oil tank for the charger which i've now moved lower)

Plans.. Tempted to get the face lift headlights back on, Quaife diff and will probably need a new clutch soon. Brakes are ok at the moment even though they are standard disks and pads, looking at either the AP 4 pot kit which is pretty stupid money (£1600+) or making my own with Wilwood callipers. Haven't decided yet, thanks for reading smile

Looks pretty nice, is it just me or has the colour faded a fair bit since the first picture? Looks a very rich red to start with.

Great project imo and should seriously shift now, however the facelift headlight's look so much better why did you even put the extremely bland pre facelift ones in?

I must be getting old, I preferred it as it was at the begining...just slightly lower, with stripes & silver wheels.

267 ponies is a serious figure for a Fiesta! How's the steering with throttle?

Colour is still very much red.

Changed the headlights as I thought I had a problem with the originals however I agree, I prefer the face lift headlights and will be getting some more asap.

Drives well, nice low down grunt and pushes you along nicely. Not too difficult to handle in the corners either smile

Cracking car, must be a good balance of practicality and (when you want it to be) mental.

I do prefer the lights it has on at the moment though, always thought that the facelift ones were a bit fussy

Love it. Currently in a Red ST with just the K&N installed. I too feel it needs a bit more.....
Looking at upgrading for a MK1 Focus RS but out of interest how much did the charger and exhaust mods cost you as its going to cost me £5k+ ontop to get into a decent RS!!

I bought all my power mods second hand so that saved me a fair amount. Exhaust was £500, sports cat was £350. Supercharger was £2500 (new they are £3500) and inlet was £400.

If you can fit them yourself then that will save you even more smile

With a mixture of driving I get 28-30mpg too, which isn't as bad as I thought it would be!

Makes it so tempting lol. Will look good if you can get the front to look stealth. I know its hard to hide the charger but will upset the local chavs bigstyle.

I definatly prefer the facelifted lights too. Will the i/c fit behind the grill at all?

I dont really like the facelift lights. Stick with the old school ones. Makes the car look a little more subtle

Nice car but one question.

I'm probably over simplifying this, but Isn't the point of coil-overs that they are very adjustable and that if you don't like the spring rate/ride height/damping, you just buy new springs (about £20), wind the spring seat up or down or twiddle one of the damping nobs? Would have been a lot easier than swapping a gazillion sets of shocks and springs!

Yes that's a fair point. Only reason I went with the B12 kit at the end is purely because everything (springs and dampers) are set up to work from the offset for fast road. The only real benefit of coilovers is to go low, something that I can't do on my current wheels as I opted for a slightly lower offset for the wheels to fill the arches.

The Gaz coilovers needed servicing so ignoring those, the AP coilovers are already very short items so even with the coilover at its maximum height the car sits about 30mm lower anyway. The problem is with the AP coilover at its full height, the damping was really really soft and to make it harder I'd have to lower the car a fair amount.

Plus I'm getting old and prefer the comfort of the B12's ha
