Having the PSE fitted on saturday, and was wondering if someone can enlighten me. Does the car have to be stationary when you turn the PSE on and off?

I thought all that happens is some flaps open and close in the exhaust, so it shouldnt matter?

IMHO forget the exhaust and actually buy one that works..i really dont understand this PSE thing(and i had one on my C4S).It actually sounds very unrealistic and hollow and to be fair is pretty naf with an on/off switch. Why not get a tubi, milltek etc where there is a small increase in performance as well?.

I thought you needed some advice which is why you asked a 3 year olds' question for your original post.Obviously not and at least you can impress the 'nova' boys when you turn it on and off with your 'switch'..they cant do that and they have to sound fast all the time.

At what point did my original question ask for your views on the PSE? Everyone knows you hate it, OPC's, GT3's, blah blah blah

Small if any increase combined with massive droning at speed and embarrasment in quiet villages.

Could understand your point about naff if you were against loud sports exhausts but dont understand why a switchable one is subject to these comments.

I owned a 996 with a fabspeed and a Ferrari 456 with a tubi - both sound wonderful but after a while you get a headache and on occassion embarrased with the attention grabbing noise.

Milltech is rubbish quality compared with the Porsche OE system.

By comparison the PSE on my last 911 was a good compromise

You can turn the switch off at any point, stationery or moving, it doesn't matter. The 'noise' automatically cuts off between 25-45mph because of Swiss noise regulations (crazy cheese eating watch making spoon benders.......)in built-up areas I believe. There's a neat trick you can do to the inside of the relay whcih takes about 5 mins, and will result in the auto cut-off being disabled. I did mine last week and now I have even more control over my 'noise'...

It's great for sleepy villages, passing horses on the road, creeping up on OAP's...etc etc hehe

Clarkey - how did you get on fixing the relay? Ive looked at the posts on Renntech and kind of looks easy, but also looks easy to completely cock it up.

How obvious is the diode that needs to be cut, and how easy is it to cut only that one?

Are you just having the PSE fitted or having the full electronic controls fitted also (+6-800 extra)
