Discussion
With the other thread on here with the shiny monaro and the calibra I wonder how many of the owners on here actually spend a lot of time on cleaning and polishing their cars?
Fifth Gear the other night had a guy - supposed to be the top bloke in UK on doing an article on detailing motors. He charges up to £5k for a motor!!! Anyone else feel like a career change Don't fancy buying that wax he uses though at 6k a pot. Maybe V6 JDT could give us all some tips seeing as he runs his own car valeting firm?
Anyone want to lay claim to having the shiniest car? Want to discuss the relative merits of the two bucket method or argue the case for Meguirs vs Autoglym?

Mine gets 5 minutes in the local BP carwash, once a month if I can be arsed !
Mind you, I do get the bucket and brush sometimes to clean the APs - the carwash misses them. Tends to be more of a mobile office, kitchen, workshop, bedroom etc. What a truly fantastic car to use everyday !!

Our Detailer charges £750.00 & takes all day, i think you get another one for free later in the year for that!!, we always take the P155 when he comes coz that glass twin polish thing cost him 6K, worth doing if you have a 20K+ car though and the shine is 2nd 2 none..!!!
Best to start with the starter kit and do-it-yourself ( around 90 sheets )

This is so bad! I'm sure Booster will agree that "swirls R us" AKA carwash anywhere is the very worst for your pride and joy! 2 buckets, water magnet and plenty of Meg's polish does the trick.
I can't believe what I'm reading!!! LOL, avoid car washes at all costs and don't listen to those Porsche boys, they know sweet Fu*k all about car washing and £750 is ridiculous, I could do yours for a tenner and get the same shine!
I would give you all a load of advice but frankly my knowledge quails next to the huge amount of offer at www.detailingworld.co.uk
If you really are sad enough you can visit it where you will find a load of great guys only to willing to give you advanced help on exactly what you should do to minimize the damage that you do to your cars every time you wash them and also the best value for money products available to you.
Basics are really, two buckets, lambswool washmitt (NO SPONGES!!!), Megs drying towel (NO CHAMOIS!) and then everything else is really down to personal taste and experience.
