I think he has 'chosen' it though so has to say nice things - it's all set up anyway, like he didn't know what the N24 would be like!

Hammond has the Viper, Clarkson the LFA (weirdly) as the F12b wasn't available.

What an odd comparison. I very much doubt there are a lot of people who are torn between a 310quish or a Dodge Viper (or SRT whatever they're called). Plus the LF-A is what, double the price of the 310quish?

They're hardly rivals are they?

Were the N24 and Lambo Supperleggera rivals? Nope, just lightweight versions of road cars.

I guess these are 3 overpowered sports GTs. Supr high tech, ultimate low tech, and the poor 310 in the middle.

Top Gear are not here to help us choose between cars, they are here to entertain us with a serious of heavily scripted co-incidences with predictably mirthful outcomes.

Their schtick has become a bit tiresome.

I disagree. No doubt the pc correct beeb hate it but due to it's popularity they can't can it. IMHO i think it's an entertaining show. People take it too seriously sometimes. Me? i'd vote for Clarkson until my time machine is perfected and i can travel back to the 70's.

I doubt the beeb hate it - in fact they probably encourage it - is this their best selling programme wink

Top Gear now reminds me of another show that also used to be on a Sunday night.
Last of The Summer Wine
Its just a younger version............with nice cars.
So for Compo, Clegg and whatever the other old Fart was called replace them with May, Hammond and Clarkson.

I doubt it
Last series he hated put down the DBS, V12V & V8VS when he tested the Virage and considered the best current Aston was the DB9

Interesting perceptions of Top Gear. For me they seem to like Aston Martin's, especially Clarkson, i hadn't noticed a bias against them but more a bias for them. Anyhow, it'll be interesting to see what they make of the new Vanquish. It is a lovely motor, looks good, is a nice place to be in, and sounds glorious.

He loved the towns lagonda, and thre v8 vantage (gaultlett era), so maybe he just has catholic tastes with regards to astons. Donsnt think they should be chasing porsche, too many of them, wrong sort of owners etc etc

I think it's more fair to say he's just railing against the idea that everything has to drive like a sportscar. Each to thier own.

The N24 is clearly just a comedy option to point out how silly lightweight cars can be. Isn't the N24 not even road legal in stock form?

Anyway, TG is heavily scripted, and it's predictable, but can be entertaining.
