Nice progression evident there, Nick. What next?
More than one a year! Did you just get bored with each increase in performance?

Thanks Rob, the early cars up to the Evo6 were from 18-22 and then i had to start saving for a house so got the VR6 as a "cheap" runabout and my then G/F had the Mk4 Golf - We used those until buying our house together then the VR6 went and I got the 320Ci so ran that for a while until getting bored and wanting something nippy again so got the Megane 225 which was good fun, but then after being married for a year my Wife fell pregnant so we sold it to get a 4-Dr hatch in the shape of the Leon, then I sold our Golf to get the 5-Series so we now have 2 sensible 4-dr Diesel cars!! (Something I didn't think would EVER happen) but I'm hopeful that one day I will get something fun again.... just not sure what!

Been there, done that 30 years ago. Went from 2 MGB GTs to an awful Citroen Estate.

Good history! Did a thread like this myself a few weeks back, good fun digging out pics of old motors isn't it? Brought back lots of memories for me!

Any more pics of the Dimma, and what was it running? Did you get it and add the kit?
I loved these cars, however IMHO don't think they have aged that well.

Completely agree with you, I was never a big fan of the Testarossa style vents, would have looked better if they were smooth like the Maxi Clio bodykit - just wide arched basically...

There's another pic here:

On the Silver Clio I actually bought a Maxi F2 Wide-arch Kit but couldn't afford the £2k+ fitting, painting plus needing specially made wheels for it so after a while I sold it and then the Dimma came up for sale while I owned the 5 Turbo so couldn't resist it....

Thanks mate!

Yes indeed, the R5 was amazing fun while it was going, embarrassed quite a few high performance Jap cars in that little beast so I had some good times with it but the £1500 engine rebuild came as a bit of a shocker so once run in I had it all re-setup and sold it on to get the Dimma Clio as that 1.8 16v engine was pretty reliable, just nowhere near as fast so the Pulsar followed soon after and was a car I could finally insure having wanted one for years!

Love the Evo and the GT 5, shame it didn't have the proper wheels on it. The Clios are a bit Max Power for my tastes though.

Indeed, Max Power was all the rage back then when I was 18 ;-) I forgive myself now as I still don't think they look as bad as most of the modified cars I see modern day 18 year olds driving around in where I live... VW's seem to be one of the only "well" modded cars in the younger generation these days.

R5 GT's are one of my favourite ever cars. I had 2 and would buy a standard one tomorrow in a heartbeat

A friend of mine ended up owning that Pulsar, or one very similar (and there can't be many like that) in about 2004/2005. Bought it from a couple who had moved on to an Impreza P1.

This was in Middlesbrough.

Car was originally black? Sppedline wheels and red four pot calipers?, turbo timer mounted to the right of the dash panel, low down? Umbrella still present?

Quick little thing if I remember correctly, pulling to 150 with ease.

Sounds about right, definitely fitted Godspeed 4-pots and the Turbo timer was already there! God i miss that car now!!

Spent all day Sunday on my BMW, full detail so it's now looking better then ever!! I expect some abuse for the "Chav" plate mind but I don't care haha.
