Hi,

Just wondered if anyone had any information on the GS3 that's supposedly due to be announced 3rd May?

Will you be getting one etc?

They've adopted Apple's style of keep it absolutely hushed then announce it and release it shortly afterwards, while everybody's still excited. Lots of rumours about the spec going around the net and if they're true, it'll be pretty special. I doubt Samsung are quite as good at keeping secrets as Apple so the rumours are probably not going to be far off.

Can't wait for this one - Had a Desire for 2+ years now and been able to upgrade for the last 8 months but need to compare GS3 with One X.

Rumours abound and as said above, probably quirte close to the mark - It could be very special

I was going to wait for this but opted for the 4S instead as I needed a new phone to go to Vegas in May, wish I had waited now, 4S is crap

No, I don't think so.
As the article says that is a disguised phone so we can't see the design.
This Korean site: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl... says that is a mid level phone. Replaces the S2 I reckon.
There is talk of the S3 being ceramic like some of the recent HTC phones, non replaceable battery (I think because its going to be very slim).
I read somewhere that multiple devices are expected on May 3rd, this is just one of them.

We'll find out in a week and a half I guess.

only specs i heard about it being that it might be running a 1.6Ghz quad core Cpu but that could just be rumored as there have not been any announcements to clarify any of it. i need a new phone im stuck with this Sony Ericsson Arc. swap anyone? haha.

As for who asked how will it sit in the range next to the Nexus, well we shall see, but the nexus isn't a big step up from the SGS2 in terms of spec, for some it's even a little step back (no SD, 5MP camera).

I think (hope) the S3 will blow the nexus out of the water. The nexus is one of the best phones I ever had the pleasure of using, it would be wonderful if samsung could once again better themselves significantly.

My lad has got the Nexus whilst I've got the SGS2 and I'd say that once you've loaded ICS into the SGS2 then all things being equal the SGS2 just about pips it on the hardwire.

However, the Samsung (Google) Nexus phone is custom built for Googles Android ICS Operating System and it does seem to operate more 'smoothly' with it than my SGS2 does. The difference is miniscule - but it is just apparent.
