They said this album was inspired by Skrillex. They've released the full song that made up the trailer for the 2nd law.

It's appalling...

I like it, and can just imagine Bellamy bringing all those effects to a live show......let's face it, anything had to be an improvement over their last effort

Jesus thats awful.

Bellamy is so much better than that.

On a slightly related note whats the deal with this skillrex bloke ? He looks like some sort of emo geek that found an 80s sound effect machine in his parents garage. I don't get it..

Quite like that. I'd rather they try different things than go further down the Queen pastiche road!

Never understood the queen comparison personally, people have been saying that since they appeared but I hear no queen influence in the first four albums. The thing they did for the olympics maybe, but thats what ? 10 years since the queen influence started being mentioned.

Probably the best Dubstep track I've ever heard. Usually I hate the stuff.

In fact, this is f*cking quality. Nice to hear something a bit different; such an amalgamation of styles, and very well done. It's always nice to see a band challenge (and potentially polarise) their own fanbase.

I have to say their last album sounded heavily influenced by Queen. This sounds interesting, I can't see it being representative of he album though..... Unless Bellamy is handing singing duties over to a 1980s Cylon.

I agree completely, been listening to it over and over and it is, indeed, a bit of class.

The first thing I said to the person who first played me a muse track(citizen erased) was "doesn't he(matt) sound like thom yorke?". I guess that's where people draw a similarity.

Well when I heard my first Muse song I thought "great... new Radiohead album on the way."
Mad guitar effects & especially vocals sound extremely similar, even down to the dramatic gasping between words.

If you listen to Nude by Radiohead, whilst looking at a picture of Herbert The Pervert from Family Guy, it can be quite an amusing experience. In fact, it appears somebody has gone to the trouble of making a video, which saves me the trouble of doing it:
