Just why is it that the Tory Party are so unelectable for Government? The worst P.M. ever, Labours out of control spending, European and American financial crisis, years in the political wilderness, leader after leader attempts to 'freshen the brand'. And yet the Tories could not muster enough votes to form a Government. Even worse for the Tories is that if the Lib-Dems had managed to move G.B. aside they would have formed a coalition Government with Labour at the last General Election. The Tories would still be in opposition today. Now you may read this as a left wing rant but step back and think about it.

Because anybody espousing any sort of right-leaning policy is routinely derided throughout the broadcast media.

Haven't we covered this countless times already?

The upshot is that all politicians are bad and the electorate are stupid and will vote for whoever appears to offer them the most (even without the cash to spend).

Thought we had covered this many times.

Labour moved the boundaries round making it virtually impossible for the Tories to gain a majority.

Then people spout st about Tories not doing what they said to get elected, completely forgetting that they didnt get elected, Tories & LibDem got elected and under the agreement certain things had to be sidelined and changed to make sure the LibDems are happy.

So Tories hands are tied and some weird and wonderful stuff comes in from LibDems.

So if/when the Scots go it alone this will have a major effect upon the voting landscape?

Very what, deluded?

Wouldn't want to accuse anyone so self righteous of being out of tilt, but why confine your argument to the broadcast media, or would it challenge your distorted sense of reality too much?

Its still worth covering again for newbies like me, I have never seen a thread related to the subject.

Fairly standard left tactic to go straight for the personal insult but I'd have thought, although will admit I don't know, that broadcast media has more influence than print.

Interesting trolling. Whilst we're at it, what made the Labour party so unelectable?

Another crass assumption, I am not on anyone's side, left or right, but I take exception to ridiculous comments like yours. How come the country has spent more years under Tory control than Labour, were the BBC on holiday? How about Sky, ITV and Channel 5, are they nasty leftie's as well? Where exactly in your parallel universe does the Mail, Express, Sun, Star, Telegraph and Times sit? Or does nobody read them so it doesn't matter who they back?

Sorry to be a tad aggressive, but I can't believe that even if we did have a left leaning media in this country, that is the sole reason why the Tories did not win the last election outright. You should contact their central office and let them know, it's an easy fix.

Tories not for government. Predictable thread, given its source.

Labour and Lib Dems not fit for government - permanent thread needed.

Whether any or a combination are electable in 2015 is another matter.

What was crass? You insulted me straight away.

You've just done it again although you did apologise this time.

It's impossible to debate with people who just throw insults around, as many on the left seem to do.

Enjoy your day.

The party that currently calls itself 'Conservative' deserves to be unelectable. They have alienated all their grass roots support. They once had 140000 definite votes from people who wore a Police uniform. They once could count on the majority of the armed Forces. Their destruction of both these organisations has ensured they have deservedly lost these votes.
Now we have 'Dave', who, while slicker than Brown, is just as inept.
There isn't a single party worthy of Government at the moment. Cameron is a cliche. He is everything the Tories have worked to say they are not. He is a disaster.
And just for balance, I am sat watching Milliband on the TV. My only thought is one of despair.

It's impossible to debate when you don't have a basis for your argument. I actually find your assumption that I am on the left an insult, but I'm still happy to debate the point, maybe I'm thicker skinned than you. Good on you though, make daft comments and walk away, heaven forbid you should ever have to think too deeply about those beliefs you hold so dear.

All the Tories are tying to do, is to get this country sorted financially. They are pursuing policies which are unpopular, they know they are unpopular, so why do they pursue them? To get the country sorted thats why!
If the people of this country want good schools, a good NHS, an efficient Public sector, etc etc then they should accept that only a rich country can provide them.
