Cars you regret selling?
Discussion
Possibly been done before but based on the "cars you regret buying?" thread....
for me....probably a 1996 VW golf GL TDI. I was at university at the time and had my 1982 E21 316 which i'd just spent around £600 on a 5 speed gearbox conversion as well as a weber carb' conversion and i bought the golf off my mum as she didn't want to hassle for selling.
it had 133k miles on the clock, full service history, recent cambelt change and 12 months MOT, i got it for £600 and 2 days later sold it for £900.
why do i regret it? well....i really think i should have sold the E21 instead, it cost me a rather large sum of money to keep very tidy over the years when it should have been spent elsewhere, and the golf was so, so reliable over the course of my mums ownership (she was the 2nd owner and had owned it for 10 years!) and think i could have saved myself a LOT of money.
but...it wasn't interesting, but it was cheap to run, service and fuel!
Over to you....

My first E34 525i SE which had a totally rust free shell but an autobox on the way out.
With what I know about these now I'd have got the auto box done and kept it as I'd already had the cooling and air-con systems replaced. Stupid boy!!!!
It had some paint work done but would have been worth hanging on to rather than going for the 540i a few years later which whilst epic turned into a mechanically failing rot box almost overnight

A fair few of them to be honest..

this one was slow, loud, bad on fuel, but I loved it.. really wish I had kept it

this was brilliant!
loved everything about it, apart from the mpg (20ish...)
only sold it due to lack of rear seats..

My first mini.. completely nuts.. i did loads of work to it.. rebuilt the front end (above pic is before resto)

My first ever car.. i WILL own another one day

My old Fiesta Flight 1.3L - rusting as all those era of Fiestas did, not great on fuel, couldn't outrun a snail and so basic inside it didn't even have a rev counter. However, it was unbeatable in the snow, oh how I wished I still had it kicking around as my Type R failed to even get out of the garage and onto the street.
