Dummy Run for RNR 5

Well we decided to do the dummy run on Sat 27th to check out the route and the lack of petrol stations up North the weather was good enough for the hoods to go down great roads and mountains just got to watch out for the pollis [sneaky] had some photo's but were too big for this forum [5.5mb] tried to reduce through thumbnail but couldnt either, so you'll need to trust me when i say the mountains and loch's were something else.
PS - Gaswedge still looking a gas supply for yourself.

I don't disagree with you its great to drive out with the cars and that's why the RNR is the best driving event.
But as I said its now not just all about wedges, which BBWF is!
Yes unfortunaly its held in one of the flatest parts of the country and it would be great to hold it in the boarders so we can drive out in the fantastick scenery.
Maybe next year we can hold it in Wales as I have found a Hotel who will accommodate us and with the Welsh hills and Mountains it could be an even better event!
So enjoy you drive in the Scotish hills but watch out for the haggises I believe they get a bit hostile that time of the year!

BBWF in Wales? Lovely that Wales is that's far from central. What about the derby-shire dales or even the Yorkshire dales i'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed or its gunna start turning into a southern BBWF which us northies especially the scots lads will struggle to get to.

Jonny, well done, really looking forward to the RNR, it will be the usual (Brilliant) and of course the BAR (aka taking the route of historic travellers hey gaswedge !!!). BBWF in Wales would be great and a nice change, maybe a bit further for the Aberdonians depending on location but if work permits we would try and head there (We are not all grippy up here lol). We enjoy both the BBWF and the RNR and totally different events, both have a high percentage of wedges and both historically have had some other marques and types of TVR's turn up so maybe its not so much the cars that make the event but the people and perhaps that is what draws the people from every walk of life to the above mentioned events.
Mr canTANKerous i see your having a go at Carob, from what i have read he's only stating that in his mind the Rusty run is a TVR event and the best run's in his opinion and is not comparing it to the BBWF which you have brought up.
The BBWF is the best Wedge event in the calendar year, i've been since 2008 and only missing this years for the first time, in 08 they were about 90 odd Wedges plus other TVR's there what a sight that was. As far as i know there is approx 200 Wedgers out there somethere so why not try and get the biggest ever Wedge event for next year going after this years events have past, maybe hold it near Central Britain which must be approx Blackpool or slightly south and see what happens.
I know it's not easy running this kind or size of event but you will always get helpers.
PS -- Andy the Haggis are only hostile because we keep running over them.

It is my opinon and if Mr Tank or anyone else don't like it, so be it.

I am not having a go I agree the RNR is a great event for driving your TVRs around some great country side with great people!
But its down to personel opinion which is the better event, the fest takes a lot of organising as does the RNR no matter who does what its hard work. With regard to the fest prior t0 the actual day I do 95% of the work and organising and get some great help on the day just as the RNR organising is done I suspect!!
But to me the BBWF gives a great deal more overall, For a lot more people and I think Rob can't disagree there!
RNR gives great driving and great well if you drink the rusty you know what I mean but for a ltd number at present but its growing and may it continue to!
I personely love the idea of both but can't do the RNR due to my present condition plus I am not a drinker and I think thats a very important part of the RNR!
Were the BBWF is purly about wedges with a lot of other bits to do with wedges added in, plus drinking and eating if you so wish, to me it just has more choice of things to do, in a short space of time!
With regard to next year I have found a place in North Wales which the wedgers have used before for a Christmas dinner, and he has agreed to let us do our thing. Which is the hardest thing to find as most Hotels will not entertain a load of Petrol Heads taking over there hotel. Thats why the Chase is used by us and the griff growl!
So I am certain we all wish you a great event and nobody will be slaming it as a non event because it is a great event, just as I am certain you do the same about the fest, lets face you have been enough times!
So have a good one and shoot a Haggis for me if they get out of hand!

Andy, i take my hat off at least your thinking of travelling North for the next event which would knock off approx 260 miles of your usual 660 miles round trip. Then it will be down to the rest to see how many other folk that are willing to travel to North Wales.
Anyway back to the RNR5 everything is looking positive at the moment and starting to take shape so make sure everyone has there passports, sun bloke, bucket and spade and rain coats,Oh and small bottle of rusty in case it's chilly.
PS - Andy if you like Haggis then e-mail me your address and i'll send you a ready prepared one down, it'll only have a 225mm Falken stamped across it.

You constantly troll any RNR thread, ramming down our throats that the BBWF is the biggets wedge event out there. Has anyone ever disagreed with you NO!!!!!
You make the RNR out to be an event that is only attended by pissheads and nothing more, well that is your opinion and you are entitled to it but we all know different.

I have no problem with you mate, you area great wedger you love the cars as much as I do, we just have a differance off opinion over certain things which is normal because if we all though the same, liked the same, life would be so boaring!
Its a shame you cant make the fest this year and the same goes for me not being able to do the RNR.
We both enjoy the events so hopefully may that continue!

Mr Tank, you make comment about the RNR being for drinkers of the devil brew. Since you have not had personal experience of the event may I suggest that you refrain from making comment without having the full facts. Your comments may put fellow TVR enthusiasts off attending like events.
Having attended both vents over the years I commend all the organisers for their efforts and hard work, we should also keep in mind that both events are different in there own way and we should enjoy their particular qualities.
Keep up the good work and look forward to your event moving further north next year, hopefully I will be able to support you then.

The wife is a non drinker and she loves the RNR. She lives on the atmosphere, excitement and camaraderie that this great event brings to all TVR enthusiasts!!!
