Just started listening to the album on Itunes.

Anyone else had a listen? What are your thoughts?

I pre ordered it but only heard 1 or 2 so far which I have loved.

Can't wait for it to arrive!

Also here: http://grooveshark.com/#!/playlist/Daft+Punk+Rando...
Have to play with the sorting to get the tracks in the right order.

I'm disappointed to be honest. Its just a bit lame. Georgio by Moroder has some good bits, but the rest sounds a bit like a slightly naff disco hits album imo.

edit: Just heard Doin' It Right which I like a lot!

Just listened to a few of the tracks;

It sounds like a tribute album, which is maybe what the title alludes to.

Lose yourself to dance sounds like they got Rodger Troutman and Zapp in, Contact sounds like YMO and Get Lucky is Chic from the future. I like the huge Moog sound in the middle part of Giorgio

A modern album that I actually like yikeshehe

I hope it'll grow on me a bit more, I didn't like 'Get Lucky' the first few times I heard it.

My initial reaction is disappointment, but I'll give it another few chances. I can remember Pete Tong playing tracks from Discovery just before that was released and loving it. RAM doesn't sound a patch on that, or the legendary Homework.

I remember people being underwhelmed by One More Time when it came out. I think most now regard it as a classic Daft Punk single.

Time will tell with new album.

I'm loving the fact this has got a jobby reception.

They've never reached the heights of Homework since so hopefully this is what they had back at the beginning in spades.

Will get a good listen to it tonight and see what i think.

I think its great, on my 4th listen through. Off to a club next week who are playing it in full through their Funktion One speakers, which will be a treat.

Lose yourself to dance is great, love the opening and closing tracks. I love how its different to the crap 'EDM' has been sending out recently.

It's very 80's computer game soundtrack. Loving it so far.

Lots of tracks on there I really like. Much more listenable to my ears.

Doin it right, is another that has that Daft Punk feel. Really nice. Fragments of time is quite mellow as is Beyond. Special mention for Giorgio.

Contact is some way to finish the album. Almost reminds me of Brian Eno's here comes the warm jets smile

Right, on my 4th listen.

There are some absolute belters on this and some vague numbers but overall i think this is what they should have done. They can go back to big party tunes for the next album, this one was a wise move though.

Contact actually has me grinning like a loon ball. Yasss biggrin

I do like Contact too. Sounds like the sort of track I'd enjoy early on a night out, around 10:30-11pm, but also would sound great driving late at night too.

Still not sure about many of those tracks on there. I'll probably buy it next week. I haven't listened all the way through yet properly though.

It sounds more like something Daft Punk would sample than a Daft Punk record. Keep expecting songs to get going, and they just don't.

Production seems nice and crisp though. Maybe it'll improve with more listens.

So disappointed. poor album made up really cringe worthy lyrics and total over use of of some sort of funk guitar thing, where is the energy or innovation?

I'm off to listen to Homework and cry in a dark room with my robot head.

Ps. None of the above applies to Giorgio, a work of absolute genius.
