Front looks good but the rear looks a bit stumpy. Though I guess if it was any longer it would be a 3 Series Coupe 4 Series.
Edit: Having seen the rest of the pics the rear doesn't look too bad.

Quite possibly more attractive than the CLA.

Looks like someone took a hot air gun to a 1 series coupe and melted it. Not quite as revolting as some of their previous efforts, but still a very long way from an attractive car.

I like it but I guess it will only be a 4-seater like the old one

It looks like every other BMW

This "brand identity" homogenisation thing really is a scourge in my opinion. They should stop giving their cars different names, numbers, etc and just sell small/medium/large

I like the new headlights, but the back half of the car looks a bit off compared to the 1 series coupe to me. Somehow this 2 series looks like it should have been longer, while the previous 1-coupe looked very balanced.

then again, i think the 1-coupe is probably my favorite BMW ever on looks, so trumping that would be hard indeed.

An M2 would be very desirable.

Is this some sort of "Spice Girls" edition to rival Victoria Beckham's RR Evoque efforts?

....the unforgettable "2 becomes 1".

Yes, best forgotten.

Pffft. I liked it well enough to run one for a couple of years, but that's just silly. rofl

Ooh i know, i have an odd taste in BMWs for sure. I do like the 3-series mostly, but the saloon always looks a bit ordinary, and every coupe since the e36 just looks a bit too long somehow, like it should have been shorter to correctly pull off the lines, to me the 1-coupe is the modern heir to the e30 coupe, which while nice, just looks a bit blocky these days.

I also LOVE the e60, so clearly there's something wrong with me smile

Quite like that, just changed cars and was tempted with an F30 3-series at the time, but would have preferred something slightly more compact and this could have fit the bill nicely.
As I’m not a fan of the new 1-series hatch and felt the 1-series coupe to a bit dated for a new purchase now I went elsewhere.
However had this been available at the time it would have been very seriously considered.
To my mind, aesthetically that’s a big improvement on the rather marmite 1-series on which it’s based and I will certainly be having a good look at it when I next change.

Does this replace the 1-series coupé then?

The e9x 3 series is their blandest ugliest creation for a while along with the x1 so in that sense i agree

Best looking BMWs have to be the Z3M breadvan, the original Z4, the e39 5 series, the e30....

not as nice as the 1 series coupe, preportions seem a bit off in that pic.

Let's face it, BMW have never been very good at getting the styling right when they hack the back off their cars.

Or when they simply inflate them into a GT.

In which case, bravo to BMW! Looks very nice, certainly a million times better than that gopping 1-series hatch. What a horrid front.

Hopefully It won't be too big-a price jump over the 1 series hatch. An M235i would be a lovely car! I'd imagine the residuals would be pretty good too looking by what the 135i has depreciated by.
