I should start by saying that I have felt generally unwell recently, with aching joints, headaches and so on. But on Saturday morning I experienced something strange (to me).
I'm also only writing this because a friend made me promise to seek medical advice (although I think she meant an appointment with a GP hehe)

I woke up at 7am on Saturday and got out of bed. I tried to walk to the bathroom and all I could feel was intense pain throughout my body. I was shaking and my eyes were watering. I got to my chair on the other side of the room and tried to get my bearings.
Eventually I turned the TV on and slunk back to bed, but at this point I had to crawl across the floor and haul myself into bed, where I lay until my alarm rang at 9am. I turned the alarm off and then promptly fell asleep until about 11:15am.

I felt horrendous for the rest of the day, although not so bad as I had felt that morning. I just put it down to an anomaly, but it'd be interesting to see if there are any ideas, as I still feel bloody awful.

For goodness sake man-up and go to the GP! Hopefully you've made an appt by now anyway. It's important - it's your health - it's your life...... do it now.

I've got an appointment for Wednesday afternoon. I have also called a GP friend who says he thinks that it's related to stress, which is the main reason I don't want to go to a GP.

Aching due to stress? The stress of a house collapsed on you? How about flu? Actual proper flu, not "man flu" cold. IANAD.

Well done. The GP may be able to help if it is stress. Good luck.

Thanks for the tip. I'll suggest wker's cramp wink

I've no idea, as I say, but I haven't felt right since. But a lot of things seem to be attributed to stress, although I don't think I suffer any more pressure than most people so it seems unlikely to me

Man flu. It happens once in a while and makes you feel like utter st. But initially you don't have the running nose, that only comes along when your body is trying to remove the crap.

I've had a few hangovers which have similar symptoms. Other than that, no idea!

Proper flu does that, and also results in the sufferer henceforth having absolutely no sympathy whatsoever for anybody who's got themselves up, dressed and to work yet claims to have the flu...

If you're head's not spinning too much and it's only 9am on a Saturday then I'd pour another 2 to 5 large full tumblers of straight Jack Daniels. Some sleep might be better for an hour afterwards with some music. Then big mixed omelette on some toasts or 3 very hot chilli-burgers with beans and you'll be fine. Don't drive tho. Sets you up for the 4pm Saturday night start. Good luck bud smile
