... pcensoredss as the say up North! I was looking forward to getting the car back on the road this afternoon after wiring afew things back up, but it has been chucking it down all day grumpy. Anyway after doing some real work this morning I decided head into the overcrowded garage and have a go decatting Phazed's old Y-piece. I thought that getting the main cat out was going to be a nightmare based on the experiences of some, but it literally pulled out once the Y-piece was cut!

However, I've come to the conclusion that decatted Y-pieces are like buses. I've been waiting ages to do this and then two on the same day. No sooner had I made my own decat, I then got offered a 'real' shiny stainless decat Y-piece about and hour later. Sadly, pockets are now empty banghead

Just need to get it welded now! I was also surprised to see how easily it cleans up with a piece of sandpaper!

fk me you got lucky!

Be very very careful you weld it back in the right place, I think Barrie done this but it was about 1-2 degrees out and now it doesn't fit

The trick it to cut it in half like a 4 year old would with a pair of scissors that way it can only go back one way wink

Why bother with the two very popular D cat Y pieces on the market ? I thought some type of insert needed welding up.

If it assists this and other recent postings (ahem) I do know what a room full of one hooker sounds like. Not quite the same as a tiv at full chat, but came pretty close . . .

The decat y piece came with the car so I'm not going to argue or give it back. I would like the matching stainless manifolds but that is serious money.
On the subject of hookers, my 'friend' has told me there is a fantastic noise but i obviously wouldn't know about that.

What about the noise when the girlfriend finds you *WITH* a hooker?

Or when the girlfriend finds you with another one of your girlfriends? hehe

I marked it in three places, plus it has got the seem down the side. I was going to pick up a cheap mig welder and have a go myself, but I have no real safe working space (my garage is chocca), plus I have real work to do. The more time I spend playing with the Chim, the less work I pick up, the less money I have to spend... on the Chim!!! biggrin
