ss as the say up North! I was looking forward to getting the car back on the road this afternoon after wiring afew things back up, but it has been chucking it down all day
. Anyway after doing some real work this morning I decided head into the overcrowded garage and have a go decatting Phazed's old Y-piece. I thought that getting the main cat out was going to be a nightmare based on the experiences of some, but it literally pulled out once the Y-piece was cut!
However, I've come to the conclusion that decatted Y-pieces are like buses. I've been waiting ages to do this and then two on the same day. No sooner had I made my own decat, I then got offered a 'real' shiny stainless decat Y-piece about and hour later. Sadly, pockets are now empty
Just need to get it welded now! I was also surprised to see how easily it cleans up with a piece of sandpaper!

k me you got lucky!
Be very very careful you weld it back in the right place, I think Barrie done this but it was about 1-2 degrees out and now it doesn't fit
The trick it to cut it in half like a 4 year old would with a pair of scissors that way it can only go back one way

I marked it in three places, plus it has got the seem down the side. I was going to pick up a cheap mig welder and have a go myself, but I have no real safe working space (my garage is chocca), plus I have real work to do. The more time I spend playing with the Chim, the less work I pick up, the less money I have to spend... on the Chim!!!
