A quick 10 minute browse and I think I like it. Might be on my own though!

Another 5 minutes and I don't think its working right yet!

Ooh, posh.

It was looking a bit long in the tooth, tbh.

The real test will be whether they've fettled the Organizr, though.

It's nasty...

In particular - The individual photo pages look f'kin awful -- that huge chunk of black and the comments buried below.

It's not getting good feedback in the forum.....

The second part of this Oatmeal comic is pertinent, I think:

It looks like a mix of Farcebook and 500px frown, Suppose I’ll get used to it though...

Looking deeper into it, the layout is ephemeral compared to the account changes.

Three levels:

Free, Ad-Free, Doublr.

Ad-free: cost doubled to $49.99, 1TB storage, otherwise same as free but no ads.
Doublr: $499.99 (yes, just shy of Five Hundred Dollars), same as ad-free, 2TB storage.

I'll probably drop Flickr when my current Pro sub expires.

My photostream doesn't even load any more, so I cant see how dreadful the new layout is

If you are a recurring Pro member then you can keep the current subscription rate and benefits --

Yeah, me too. I like the comparison page it offers, doesn't seem all that tempting:

Pro:

Unlimited Storage
Ad Free
Detailed Stats

Free:

1 Terabyte
With Ads
No Stats

Oh well. Might stay, might go. Does anyone know of any good alternatives?

Ah, just seen your post Lucas CAV! I may as well stay then!

Not a massive fan...I'll no doubt get used to it though.

I liked the clean white look it had before, I could easily see any new photos from my 'friends' (mainly photographers I'm jealous of on here!)

One good thing is that photostream now scrolls endlessly which means you don't have to click all the time.

Edit: No it doesn't, only 'two' pages worth unless that is a bug that needs fixed...

I like Flickr, I use my own site to get out to potential buyers, and flickr to get out to other photographers, through which I've made some good contacts, and some good friends.

If they do use this change as an excuse to hike the pro rates up they're going to piss a lot of people off. Whilst I'd be tempted to move, the convenience of having a one stop shop where you can see what your contacts are doing is a much easier option than having your own website, for me anyway. I suppose I could always switch to a hosting site which makes all images look flat and lifeless and slaps their own hideous logo on every pic...

The more I think of the new pricing the more insane it seems.

Happy pro account holder? No, I am not.

Hmm. It's like an ugly 500px.com

Can anybody work out if there is any point in hanging on to a Pro account? Now that "many of the Pro-only features are now part of free Flickr accounts", as far as I can see, all it gains you as ad-free browsing.

I can't even get my photostream to load now - just those rotating balls!

Anyone spotted any response from FLickr yet?
