To get us in the mood...............
Discussion
Taken by myself en route to the 2006 24hr. This is my friend holding the remains of his prop.....the car was a home grown turbod Capri, Cossie short motor with a big valve pinto head, tubular manifold and a T4 turbo all on a stand alone management. We got it on the road that day after a long period being built, in fact I mot'd it just that afternoon for him. We did the base map on the m1. Ran out of fuel on the m25. Made it to France with many pitstops along the way. We were blatting along doing some final map tweeks via the laptop when I said "is the propshaft knocking" at which point it let go and made the car skip about all over the place.
We got recovered, were offered a Twingo hire car, which we turned down. After alot of phoning around it became apparent that there was no rental cars left in the area.....so we went back for the Twingo....which had also been let go during that time...no rental cars left anywhere. Bugger.
My friends insurance paid for a taxi to pick us up and also paid for a nights accommodation at a very nice little place in Sees. We hit the local pubs in Sees that night. As the football was on at around the same time, & being British, we got roped into several games of table football......we got slaughtered, to which the pub celebrated in the street lol. A local French girl then offered to cook us dinner (this was an odd night), to which we accepted. Back at her apartment we were looking at her drawings (she was an art student) whilst she was in the kitchen. Then her boyfriend came home.....then his drug dealer came round....we made our excuses and promptly left as the situation was beginning to get uneasy, to say the least.
To add to all this, we were on foot for the rest of the trip, my new trainers gave me huge blisters and I also had really bad tooth ache.
After the weekend, we got picked up by another taxi and taken back to the recovery garage, whilst dropping in on our place in Sees to collect my passport that I left behind. We were then shunted back to the UK via various flat beds etc.
It was a long trip, my second lemans visit (my first visit saw the demise of my Cossie's diff planet gears near to Lemans), & John's first visit.....but it put neither of us off and have continued to return

This year John is taking a Scimitar of a fairly unknown quantity.....so watch out for it broken down some where and be sure to say hi

One year I was so busy with work I didn't have time to sticker my company MX-5. Luckily having such amazing friends I awoke on the Friday to find they had stickered my car on my behalf.

This was only 10 years ago... seems like a nice place for a beer... some blokes Ferrari

Sticking my hand out in a camp manor really didn't help either. Fair to say there were a few laughs along the various Spin It locations....
