Pity that the CSCC have already announced something very similar with many registrations already and the significant benefit of a one hour race at Spa.

Great news James, 1hr endurance races with dunlop slicks and loads of 7's at a reasonable price would be just the ticket, already started looking for a car!

As I understand it this new race series are 50 minute race and with 20 minute qualifying sessions, at a cost of £240 + vat, eacch race meeting will have two races that can be entered. This is shown on the Britcar web site. So if I am right that is 2hours and 20 minutes track time for £480 + vat. I would certainly look at CSCC's web site their race weekends give the opprotunity for 2 hours 10 minute track time for £455 including vat.

Thier race amount to 20 minutes less, as their races are only 40 mins not 50.

James - these entry fees are very good value for money. If this is possible, could Britcar competitors not have track time at similar rates?

IF THERE WERE 40 CARS IN BRITCAR AND ALSO IT IS A FILLER, NOT A CHAMPIONSHIP WHICH COSTS A LOT MORE TO RUN.

I tink the point was missed TOTAL TRACK TIME. I do not think that CSCC track time of two hours and ten minutes for £455 is'nt to bad. Two hours and twenty minutes for £480 + vat does not appear quite so good for total track time of just ten minute more!

James - I think if you priced Britcar like this you'd have 40 cars. I'd be in for a start....and I suspect many others

You and me both !!!!!!!

Is it not a bit insulting to your core supporters, ie Britcar / Production, to give away track time at a discounted rate? It will leave a sour taste in many people`s mouths and those competitors who just want to go racing and aren`t Marque specific might jump the Britcar ship and head to the Caterham races leaving your main brand vulnerable.

I think consistency across the board is king.

edited to add:

The significant amounts charged for championship / series registrations these days should cover many of the associated costs.

The Caterham races this year will be set at a price, the price for these races will be set for people wanting to race in a different style of racing, with parts such as TV etc, that are offered to Britcar and Production, excluded. The Prices for Britcar are set so the people who have entered can get the best possible service and a set of regulations for a Championship, the Caterham is a series(not a championship) will be priced accordingly. Next year depending on what the caterham people would like to do, the races will be priced accordingly. I know only to well how expensive it is to put on a race meeting on, I take the risk every year, maybe you should conplain to the circuits about their prices, even in this recession they have put thier prices up, thank you for your imput.

Any update on this series from anyone? I thought there was going to be a pilot race this year which would have done without refueling, and then a series next year, but have heard nothing more about it. If anyone can shed any light on this it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hello everyone I am sorry I have not contacted you all, but I have had some time off due to an opp.
Better and back, to say the 7th of November at Brands Indy will be the first race, I would like to have a meeting so we can all agree on the regs of which I have done a draft. I will post the regs on the web site www.britcar24hr.co.uk.under 'competitors'

Please contact any friends who have caterhams and copy me in with their address or phone number.

There will be because not everyone has refuelling equipment yet, we will have 20min qual and 2x 35min races for £300.00 plus vat.this is a special price for........90 min of tracktime.

all the best
