First of all we'd like to say a huge thank you to all our colleagues in the Tuscan Challenge paddock and all of you TVR fans that have been so supportive of our quest to develop our Sag's into true endurance cars. As you know, we've been developing these beasts all year to make them competitive and reliable amongst the well known marques that chase down the Britcar honours.

After a number of frustrating attempts this year where the cars have shown real promise, only to be thwarted by little issues which have prevented us from finishing, we're delighted to be able to report success at the Season's finale at Brands Hatch this weekend.

Both Sag's looked awesome and attracted huge attention from a very good turn out from the spectators and more importantly, both cars showed that they are properly competitive and having ironed out the gremlins, now capable of completing full endurance races. Neither car missed a beat all weekend and preformed brilliantly throughout.

In qually, both cars put in a solid mid 48 secs time which was right up there in Class terms and not bad considering it was our first ever "into the dark session". The night race itself was equally satisfying, in fact more than that for Tim who was in 5th place overall after 45 mins when sadly a coming together between him and a Marcos ended with Tim's car in the pit wall. Fortunately nobody was hurt and given the size of the impact, the Sag stood up to it incredibly well. In fact Terry (our Chief Engineer) remarked after inspecting the damage, that if we had another race tomorrow the car would be on the grid. Mind you it's that sort of attitude that's paid off all year and is now repaying us, the drivers, with fantastic cars to pedal.

My car, with me and Sam Head at the wheel finished 4th in class after some terrific battles with virtually all of the cars at one point or another. Apart from trying to see in the dark one of the biggest challenges was avoiding the big off at the start of the race which cost us a number of places. However, it was great fun trying to pass those cars back again in our first ever night race, which, on the Indy circuit is not that easy.

Anyway, what a weekend - so thanks to all of our Team who worked so hard to make it possible and to those of you who have been routing for us throughout. Next year could be very intersting indeed!!! drivingsmile

Slowley at the mo. I've now got 99% of the parts but we're looking to go a slightly different route with the cage, which is taking an age to design, but should hopefully add even more rigidity..

Thanks Kev, although I can't take any credit for the hard work, that's down to Tim, Terry and Jamie to be fair - having said that it gets pretty tough taking the wallet out as much as we've had too, but you know about that too!

What's this I'm hearing about unintended alterations to your blue baby, hope she's alright?

Oh ok, what you looking to do differently and who's making it for you? Have you decided on engine choice yet btw?

Looks like the cars are begining to show their true potential now which is excellent chaps.
Gutted for Fred who's put so much into the project , seems that fate dealt him a bad hand again and he did'nt get the chance to race.
Glad Tim is ok after the Off and the car not too badly damaged, these are awesome cars and it's great to see them taking on the Ferrari's Porsche etc.

Structural front and rear bulkheads and floor, more triangulation over the engine. Also probably just use the outer body shell so need to cut the floor out :-(.

Engine wise starting with the tuscans 5ltr RV8, but modding the chassis to take ls which will also allow us to get the rv8 as far back as possible...

mating all that to the elite box..

We'll probably endup between B&A in terms of power and class 3 britcar..

Yeah we were all gutted when it happened and quite ironically the car came to a standstill on the pit wall virtually outside our garage. It was a bit odd at the time as my car was in the pits for the driver change and refuelling when Tim suddenly appears climbing over the pit wall! "What the hell are you doing here?" was the overwhelming question at the time - seems slightly funny now in the cold light of day.

You're right though, Fred has also put a lot into the Team and he must be really frustrated to have missed his drive this time. However, you should've seen the smile on his face when we finished the race, it made it all worthwhile. Also, he knows he'll get the drive next time out! smile

Congratulations Steve, you must be very pleased indeed.

I also wanted to say a huge well done to poor old Tim & Terry, who have battled with problem after problem this year to get these two cars out. At times they must have seriously considered jacking it all in and to their credit they stuck with it and produced two excellent cars. I know only too well how much effort has to go into a project like this. You take the failures very personally but they are played out in a very public manner. You endure the little digs about being better off with the AJP. Motor racing being what it is there will be further problems as the cars race more, but it is really great to see the cars now fundamentally sorted.

Such a shame that Tim's race ended in the wall, but having spoken to him he was very upbeat as the car had proved itself. I know Fred has also put a lot of time into the project and I can imagine his delight to see the purple car finish.

Well done all!

Thank you to both Andys for your comments and well wishes, much appreciated. Having had similar frustrations to ourselves, I'm sure Andy H can fully relate to how excited we all feel now the cars have proven their capability. Hopefully Andy you'll be very close to ironing out the last few creases with yours in the very near future - we all wish you well with that.

Of course we're also fully aware that this is just the start and inevitably we will suffer from issues going forward - it wouldn't be motor racing otherwise! However, we can at least approach next Season with confidence and feeling really upbeat about our prospects. smile

It sounds like a great performance and a real shame that Tim's car ended in the wall. I have been following Andy Holden's progress and you have all had a tough time of it but it looks as though the cars are going to be a force to be reckoned with next year. It is a credit to all of you that the cars are quick and beautifully turned out.

From my side I shall be sticking with my old Tuscan so, whilst I wish you all luck in the Sags, I hope the lure of distance racing and bright lights doesn't impact on the grid levels in the TVR Championship which seems to get better every year.
