I received a parking ticket today whilst Christmas shopping in Burnley. It is a free carpark, and always has been but there are some signs, admittedly I only noticed after I got the ticket as I have parked there for years with no issues.

Anyway its from a company called 'PCN (NW) Limited' http://www.pcnnw.co.uk/ and the alleged infringement is for 'Free parking whilst in the premises only'.
I parked the car and walked into town as usual, but somebody must have been watching me as the ticket was issued 5 mins after I left.

Upon my return I didn't go straight to the car but to one of the shops on the premises and purchased an item, this was some 1hour and 20 mins after the ticket was issued, so I do have a receipt from one of the shops the car park is for. Surely they won't have photos of me leaving the premises, and if they do they will be off poor quality, so how can they prove I left the premises?

I refuse to pay it, but is it worth writing a letter to contest the fee, or should I just ignore these bunch of clowns trying to rip me off.

Thankyou.

Forget it.

It's a contract.

To sue for breach of contract, they need to know who the driver was...

They don't know...

Don't contact them, ignore them. I had a similar issue back in August with a company called Flashpark and they're still threatening me with court action. Each letter I receive says that unless I pay immediately they will take me to court.
I've had 3 so far and each one says the same thing. I have asked advice on other forums and every reply has been 'ignore it'.

Cheers chaps

I've had a bit of a search and feel assured, also it appears that there website is full of bull as it says

2. I was not the owner at the time the alleged parking contravention occurred
If you make representations on this ground, you are obliged to supply the name and address of the person to whom the vehicle was disposed of...
Which I have since found out is a complete lie.

Should I even acknowledge them or just use this ticket to wipe my behind on in the event of a loo roll shortage?

It certainly was, I've parked there for years, and never had any problems before.

Next time I'll park in Sainsburys next door!

I notice you used to own a 9000 CSE and say it was "a decent handling car" are you sure about that!?

I feel your pain, Albeit under slightly different circumstances. I payed for a ticket and put it on my dash and as I shut my door it blew off and landed under the passenger seat! 50 quid robbing s. The tickets used to be sticky and stuck no problem to the windscreen but I think since that most people who still had a few hours left on a ticket would stick it to the pay machine for the next person, they are no longer sticky. Really boils my piss!

Private company issued it? If so, there's nothing to fight. They won't take you to Court because the invoice is not enforceable.

Ignore it!

The stuff on pepipoo is classicsmile The best bit is where they state they have a management team with over 35 years experience in the business but the combined age of the two owners/managers is 42rofl
