VMAX Armageddon - The picture thread - post your shots here
Discussion
Hi there,
Heres the first batch of photos, there all a bit the same as they were taken from the first corner but today I was after nice photos of great cars rather than anything arty farty.
Porsche 930 - pretty nippy after being fitted with a 993 Turbo engine
Another Porsche (there was a few) this time a superb looking 964
Stunning 997 GT2 with Dymag wheels
Back to the early nineties with a Lotus Carlton
Focus RS - a quick car but not in todays company
911teo's very nice Ford GT
Jaguar XKR
Simon George popped by in his LP640
E46 M3 with nice CSL wheels
Supposed to be taking it easy back to the pit area
Another shot of the Carlton
Rare Lamborghini Gallardo Nera limited edition
Noble M12 - still looking good
NSX - one of two running today
Audi R8 V10 - one silver and one black
R35 Skyline GTR - three running today all showing decent speeds
Audi RS6 - theres always plenty of Audis running at VMAX
Doug's SV - nice to see it running in anger what a stunner
Porsche 996 Turbo
Stripped out Audi S4
Godzilla - nice to meet you today David.
Finally was probably going to be the quickest car of the day, glad the occupants are all ok.
Steve (trackdemon) was on site today acting as photographer for VMAX and he did mention that he will post his pics from today up over the next week or so. Please feel free to add any that you took to this thread. I will post the rest of mine tomorrow or Monday.
Regards
Tim

Thank you very much for sharing them with us, shame I couldn't get along to this myself
Hi there,
Next batch from me, still can't get over the stunning cars that were at yesterdays event.
9ff GT9R
and another shot of their GT2
The only Ferrari at the event was this very pretty 599
No apologies for a load of shots of the superb Mercedes SLR 722
Leons RUF CTR-3 was the car of the day for me, the one I would buy if my numbers came up
This was an amazing little touch, turn the ignition on and the rear view camera appears from a little hatch, turn the car off and it disappears again. I suppose its RUF's version of the spirit of ecstacy.
Nice Audi RS4
God I love Lotus Carlton's
This was a good looking car and very rare a Mercedes CLK DTM AMG
Perhaps the strangest pairing of the day
Surprisingly the Defender was quick off the line
Craigs great looking 911.
This 997 GT2 was absolutely gorgeous, love the wheels !
Engine bay of the new record holder - 9ff 996 Convertible
Ford GT roars off the line against an RS4
Another Gallardo
and a Porsche 996 GT2
Porsche 997 GT3 MKII
This was a surprise, an LP640 Roadster - stunning
R8 V10 - does look well in Black
Finally another Porsche this time a 997 Turbo

Tim - your pictures look really punchy compared to some of the others posted... Do you do a lot of manual postprocessing, or do you have a "recipe" that you apply ? Works well, however you do it.

Hi there,tnote]
Thanks for the compliment, the images are all run through photoshop with a pretty similar workflow that includes alterations to curves, shadows and highlights, brightness & contrast and some sharpening.
I tend to do every image in this way as I have never ever had a picture come out of the camera that does not need some amount of work.
Oh I also calibrate my monitor regualrly as well.

Tim
Great pics, great day.....Not chuffed with my top speed, but the car will be 100% for the next event!
Sad seeing the 9ff car in a state, what a shame! Any news on what happened? Driver error, some fault somewhere?
That CTR3 is really something in the flesh, very beautiful, great to actually see one! Blown away by a normal looking cab doing 220+, just mental....
Talking of mental, some of the Porsche guys in the states had an event today. Standing start 1 mile jobbie. Eddie Bello managed 236.7mph............IN ONE MILE..............FROM STANDSTILL.......
And this is in a narrow body 964 with an air cooled twin turbo motor...

Does anyone know what the 997 GT3 MK2 managed? Cant see it in the results table.
Hi Dave, it didn't run. I would have liked to have known too. Looks like a I missed a good day. I was in Dublin recovering from seeing one of the worst rugby games I have ever seen.
