I am quite sure i will not get much sympathy but I will share this story anyway..

Being a pothead, I decided to grow my own supply in my garage until local scum broke in and discovered it last year. At the time, i assumed it was kids, but i dismantled it and moved it to my loft anyway.

Just before last christmas i discovered two youths trying to access the garage again and scared them off. A week later i heard another one and chased him off again. A week after that they climbed in through an open upstairs window and robbed the house, but did not go into the attic. A week after that i came home and realised i had yet again disturbed someone trying to break in as more damage had been done and my security lights were still on. I did not call the police at any time, due to my hobby...

Last week it got far more serious. I answered a knock at the door and got pushed back into my house by four masked guys. They beat me up and were demanding cash/drugs/whatever i had. At some point during this episode I had managed to point them in various directions looking for stuff and found myself with no one between me and my front door, so i legged it down my stairs and out the front door.

Being chased down the road covered in blood i started yelling at the top of my voice for help/police etc and luckily they gave up the chase. Once i was happy they had buggered off i ran back into my house and grabbed my car keys and car and got the hell out of the area.

I got to the safety of my family twenty miles away and called the police, reporting the crime and admitting my offence.

The police have been absolutely fantastic, and they understand entirely why i would not press charges against the local 'mafia'.They tell me i would not get a prosecution anyway as it was four against one and they were hooded/masked. I have been given a caution for the grow room.

I will not be going back to the house apart from to empty it/fix it/sell it, but they phoned me again three days ago to tell me i have been burgled again and they have three guys in custody. They were not caught on the scene and had none of my posessions on them so they have been released as i would not press charges.

My house is now trashed, various window frames have been broken, the summer house has been fked, my garage is wide open, my brand new patio doors are in pieces etc etc.

That will teach me.....

not to buy a house in MK.

Over to the panel hehe

elsewhere our hero said:
In my opinion, criminal activity stimulates the economy and is a good thing for the UK.

Reasons:

Vandalised private property has to be repaired, this gives people jobs and stimulates the economy.

Stolen items have to be replaced, which stimulates the economy.

Drugs are good, because they stimulate theft rates^^^^

Murder is good because it means private money changes hands which stimulates the government coffers.
...
So, is crime good for the country, but bad for the people of the country?
Trebles all round!

Being visited by masked men is an occupational hazard for pot growers, in fact it is a bigger problem than being arrested by the Polis. One of my tenants has had two such visits in the past year (masked men, baseball bats, CS gas), not because he is cultivating gear but because he has form for doing so.

It is a sad fact that criminals can be very lazy and they would rather steal drugs grown by someone else than go to the time and effort of cultivating their own crop. After all you are hardly likely to run to the police... oh hold on...

It's a sad state of affairs when you can't cultivate a crop of controlled drugs without attracting the attention of criminals isn't it.

If you had not mentioned to a single person about your stash/hobby (or sold it out of your house - not a cautioning offence obviously, but thats not what you were doing....was it), its unlikley this would have happened.

But people who like to indulge and grow their own (or sell it) are so chuffed with the fact theyre being a bit naughty, they cant help but tell people. And the little people associated with drug use are folks of low self esteem and the way they feel good is to have information about "this bloke I know who grows loads of it" and they tell people that you wouldnt neccesarily have told. And once word is out that your house is drug house (lets not tart it up, if it required your garage or loft, you had a bit more than required for personal consumption), you are fked.

I lived next door to one for a while. As youve found, the only solution once word is out, is to move. Even then, the next owners may become victims of some fkers who just want to be sure.

Grow only wahts required for your own use, dont sell it and keep your mouth shut about it.

If you think Im being unfair, consider the fact youve just declared it to a whole internet forum. Cannot. Resist. It.
