The bit you sit on will be too narrow. In a Westie the actual chassis is so narrow it does the job of holding you in. In a TVR there will be gaps between that seat & the transmission tunnel and the other side by the sill. Check the width of your 'seat' bit. yes

seen a few wedges with MX5 seats in them - no idea how easy to fit, but they do look good and arent silly priced.

If you check the standard seats vs. A.N.Othercarseat, you'll see that the base is unusually long front-rear. This gives good support behind the knee, ideal when sat in such a legs-flat position. Most cars have short seat bases and don't give good support unless you have a typical legs-bent position.

MX5 seats do look like a good replacement but i haven't seen them in a wedge yet, if i do find and fit some i will take i pic for over wedge owners that are considering swooping.

Ive got my eye on a pair of cheap black bucket style seats that recline and they will tidy up the inside of the car a bit of now

you wont believe that there were tan seats identical to those on e-bay a couple off hours ago, i didn't bid on them coz colour clash with my lighter magnolia,
now I'm thinking Ive miss out bounce on a good buy and they looked in good nick to.

I put MX5 seats in mine. Much more comfortable than the original seats, more support, etc. I mated the Seats to the original TVR tracks and they work perfectly, even gained an inch or so between my thighs and the steerning wheel.

There are a few complications to consider when changing as the seat squab is not rectangular with the side nearest to the gearbox angled in. The front of the frame is 395mm and the rear width 430mm with the door side at right angles to the front and rear frame.

The floor slopes up from the rear where the mounting points are so you need a shallow base at the front and also probably to install some more mounting brackets.

The foam had all gone on my driver’s side seat and also the seat ‘springs’ which doesn’t assist the comfort. So why is it the only car I don’t get backache in? Must be the vibro massage

MX5 driver’s side seats tend to be a bit worn but are very comfy

I don't know about the wedge years but the S Series seats are all jag colours.
Take a look at these on ebay.

I've bought some XJS front seats and they are an exact colour match for my existing interior (called doeskin).

I paid £100 for the pair of seats, better than some of the ridiculous TVR seat prices elsewhere.
I've seen them go for between £70 and £140 for a pair on fleabay.

If you're feeling brave they have electric heating and an electric pneumatic lumbar support (the air pump is inside the seat somehwere apparently). They are very nice quality seats.
I'm still completing my body off (the eagle eyed will have noticed there was no gear lever in the pics above) so I haven't fully fitted them yet.
They are much more bucketed than they look - the lower seat pad sinks quite a bit so the bolster sides are quite pronounced when you sit in the seat.

Looks good boyo. Any issue getting them in? Rails? Height of the seat compared to the old ones? Enough seat travel / adjustment?

I added 3 new holes to mount mine - and while the car-seat fit is great, it is a bit scrunchy sliding in under the steering wheel which I keep low/flat. I going to look at TXcoyote's idea of re-using the TVR runners for more clearance.

Yes I am well pleased with them thanks for comments,

The seats came with the runners on them so I put them straight in , it took about half hour a side and the only mods I had to make was the two floor holes on the rear of the brackets didn't line up and had to be re drilled and the front holes lined up a treat.
The fixing holes on the front of the runner brackets had to be flattened out a bit with a hammer but all in all they were straight forward to put in.

My old seats made the interior look very tired I will post a pic.

It’s a mod that I would recommend if you can find some that are close to the colour of the interior,
my old seats were magnola but i don't think the blue look to bad.
