RE: 186mph on British roads
Discussion
The more I see, the more I want these people caught.
If I saw them out on the road I'd be reporting them at every given opportunity, this is not about speeding or curbing fun, this is driving so far beyond the limits of reason that you need others on the road to alter their actions in order to stay alive, where is the skill in that?

im sorry guys but it must be said... i dont claim to speed excessivly or follow any other stereotype of a biker but yes im a biker and you lot are obviously not, inthe bikers deffense the skill and thrill of riding a bike is in the cornering and handling. we go out to get the addrenaline pumping in our veins and as insured bikers we only endanger ourselves at any rate, as for the car driver its his decision to race a bike but this should not be done as cars just cant do on a road what a bike can, even though impreza and evo drivers think it can. thats how accidents happen. if we all rode bikes for a year or so everyone would become more confident and overall better drivers. oh and sorry but this topic will now last untill the end of time, oops. again SORRY
I haven't ridden a bike in years (was married to a woman that hated the idea of me being on a bike), and whilst I agree about the adrenaline pump you get on a bike, its total rubbish that you "only endanger yourselves". If you're careless, carrying excess speed, you can easily do major damage to a car, cause someone to swerve and cause them to have an accident. As others have said, speeding per se isn't a problem, but wreckless driving on the other hand is a major issue, be it car, bike, mountain bike, etc.
Just watched this again.
For all my bleating about hooning, the ability to go far quicker than laws currently allow, etc, etc, etc, I simply cannot fathom the strain of lunacy so proudly paraded here.
It seems to me we are dealing with a new breed of uber chav, not dissimilar to the well to do members of London's football following hooligan elite some years back, whereby gross antisocialism which actively celebrates nothing so righteous as considered driving freedoms, rather, insane danger itself, is the singular raison d'etre.
Whilst we might secretly admire the notion of hatred against the reviled speed trap devices, we know that within the context of such mindless presentation, any sympathetic currency such antics might sustain is immediately and comprehensively devalued to the level of the Rhodesian dollar.
It is the same, thick, giddish, sub-lad culture with which only the brain dead can be arsed, similar in vein to utter crap like the 'Jackass' type phenomena, ad nauseum.
The reference to that Ghost Rider antihero signifies the emergence of this thinking, or cult and I fully endorse Vonhosen and his ilk to round them up and administer a thorough truncheoning.
These are the kind of grunt dwellers who you simply watch with considerable disbelief as they breach double white, after blind crest after red light and so on.
That this culture so undermines our noble cause is all the more reason to condemn and despise these antics.
Lower class, wannabe Gumballing vermin but without the appalling nouveaux.
Get 'em, Dibble.

Simple natural selection (or lack of it these days) say that "we" won't win this one. Unfortunately "they" breed faster than "we" do, the NHS won't let "them" die, the state will stop "them" starving when out of a job, and the cars "they" drive are much safer thanks largely to "our" efforts. For all my bleating about hooning, the ability to go far quicker than laws currently allow, etc, etc, etc, I simply cannot fathom the strain of lunacy so proudly paraded here.

What this is all about (at all levels) is nothing so much as the need for risk in life and the way in which society has removed this. Young males don't go to war (very much), don't carry out risky jobs, etc. But they're still human, still have this need for risk. In days of old there would have been crusades, duels, tremendous risks in everyday life, etc.
We're not going to change human nature, we're not going to magically undo thousands of years of evolution, we're not going to suddenly wake up one morning and find that white, middle-class, English values are somehow the natural norm. They're not, and we're not going to make them so. Instead we have to find some other way of dealing with this. Like National Service, perhaps?

ghostrider?? u mean the staged videos where he races "police cars"
if these guys want to be like him why dont they firstly realise that his videos are heavily edited??
not only that but as a bike and car owner (pulsar, m3 + blade) it seems obvious that these guys dont realise the damage they do to the ordinary motorist, not only on a possible physical level in a crash, but, as mentioned before on this topic, the ease of which videos ike these can be used to great affect by lobby groups such as safe speed etc.
i hope officer dibble does indeed catch those involved.
either that or lock them in a room with parents/relatives of those killed by reckless drivers/riders.
im not saying speed is bad, but as all of us who have more than 2 brain cells realise (that rules out the stupid school kids then) that there is a time and place for it.
if u want to ride/drive like an idiot, do it on a track, save us from your dangerous riding/driving and at least we dont have to see the remains when u wrap it round the armco!!!

If you want to get the adrenaline rushing, go and do a track day. It's just the kind of selfish "well it's only me I'm hurting" attitude speaks volumes about the sort of bikers that get slated on here.
Hummmm....
Iv seen the DVD, my mate borrowed it off some bike nut for a couple of days and on the DVD itself it shows newspaper still sayin men chargerd or police raid or something like that, so i thought they were already in police investigation.
Iv seen the footage, yes its stupid, and could cause death, but the setting fire to the speed camera made me chuckle lol.

I haven't watched the excerpts (proxy police at work prevent it), but imagine it is in the same style as Ghostrider and its ilk.
The point is that it is designed to shock and make money from the thrills. I'm sure they have driven like that for effect. Best way to stop them is starve their oxygen and not watch or buy the material.
Now come on, let's be sensible here...Many here on PH have done some big speeds and had epic journeys where they ended up driving or riding in a manner that others find antisocial. I have (once or twice), but have never left the house with the intent of riding like a twunt. These loons have, which is bad. I always start my journey with every intent of being considerate and courteous, but sometimes it just ends up that you overtake safely and the recipient of the pass gets eggy. They go home and carp on about what a lowlife I am.
I must (sadly) admit that half the fun of riding fast is seeing the self righteous wring their hands and tut into their Daily Mail's. Threads like this just give them more satisfaction. If I didn't like speed or had a sanctimonious nodding implant, I would ride something crap, like a Harley.
If we want to help stop these videos being made, can we try and muzzle all the sandal wearers bleating about their kids in their cars etc and motorcyclists being mad dog rotters? It is a bit hackneyed, TBH, and just feeds the idiots who make these dangerous movies.
Afterall, this is Pistonheads, not "Terry and June go for a Bimble".

Just watched it. There was a little convoy of Ferrari, Aston, and 2 TVRs at the start.
Here are some 'highlights':

The white car on the roundabout is the 'police car' which IMO isn't a police car at all, since the biker makes no attempt to get away from it - not the actions of somebody who values their freedom. The 'police car' then overcooks it at a roundabout in the most stupid and predictable way ever, you'd have to be a complete idiot to lose it like he did (the view is a rear-facing camera on the bike). Setup IMO. The other roundabout shot near the top is a forward-facing camera. The biker just drives onto the wrong side of the roundabout, forcing the white car to swerve.
Worst bit is 5th image from the bottom - the Evo overtakes on an almost blind bend, forces oncoming traffic to lock up and drive straight into the grass verge.
The last frame is them asking 'Ghostrider' for a race, he tells them to go to the Nurburgring and he'll race them there. On the voiceover they suggest he should '
off back to Sweden'.

I’d put this in a different category from the ‘Ghostrider’ vids (as I implied with my ‘he’s no ghostrider’ comment earlier).
My overriding feelings watching the ghost rider ones (that 'upsala run' one where he's riding down a motorway) were “it’s pretty amazing that he hasn’t killed himself” and “he’s actually a really, really good rider”. My overriding feelings watching this one were “it’s amazing they haven’t killed some poor bastard, and themselves” and “he’s not anywhere near as good a driver/rider as he thinks he is”.

Three things:
1 - Evo speedo's are cr@p at the best of times and above 100 they are pretty useless. Therefore an indicated 186mph would be possible in an FQ-320 as true speed would be more like 150-160mph.
2 - If you want to see this 'Ghost Rider' video people keep mentioning, head over to Google Video and search for Upsala Run, or click here
http://video.google.co.uk/videosearch?q=upsala+run
Note, the 15-16min Upsala Run video is no longer hosted on Youtube and this is the one you're after.
3 - The driver and rider in the Stu-pid video need a good kick in the face.

If thats doing good then yes I am, I care about all human life but 15 bikers taking the piss and abusing car drivers is not funny and don't tell me I hate bikes and bikers cause I ride 20 grands worth of Harley, yes its got a radio, but thats because I don't have to ride like a fool.
If you want to ride a bike hard..........take it to the track.........no most are frightened of being beaten by someone who can ride on a smaller lighter faster machine.
Paul that was a good reply until you typed Harley; hardy a cutting edge bike in the 60's LOLIf thats doing good then yes I am, I care about all human life but 15 bikers taking the piss and abusing car drivers is not funny and don't tell me I hate bikes and bikers cause I ride 20 grands worth of Harley, yes its got a radio, but thats because I don't have to ride like a fool.
