I dare not try one because they are to much money even for my famous never emptying wallet if i try one and find i have to have it i would need to finance part of it as i have got a lot invested in long term potential building projects so i need to play it safe for the time being.Damn they are really that good im going to try not to think about it.How much do you think you need to put in to the car a year if you are doing say 3k road miles excluding depreciation.

Would have been more if you'd actually used it on track tongue out

Can't afford a pair of harnesses each so I've been told wink I knew the recession would bite sooner or later.

Certainly one of the few times I've bought a car that's increased in value. USA car's are back at what I bought mine for in 2006 Francis, sub $300k USD for circa. 5k miles, time you bought one I think smile

I have just come back from a visit to the porsche garage and noticed a couple of carrera gts in there i spoke to one of the mechanics and he told me new pads and disks all around would be £27,000.00 you dont want to many bills like that and thats without an oil change.

993rsr will know better than me but i think fearnsport do a steel conversion to avoid such sillyness.

The steels worked well enough but the additional weight was too much of an issue in affecting the handling and feel of the car.

I'm now 1000 miles and two track days into using a set of Surface Transforms Carbon Ceramic rotors. The whole rotor is friction material unlike the laminated PCCB's which will eventually (as mine did) start to de-laminate with extended track use.

The Surface Transforms rotors also have a different fibre length and orientation that increases their durability. They even advocate taking the discs from car to car they last so long!

http://www.surface-transforms.com/

They are now performing as well as the PCCB's and are not fully bedded in yet. At circa 60% of the cost of replacement PCCB's and offering superior lifespan and performance they are an alternative well worth considering:

I had them fitted to the original SGL Carbon/PCCB 'hat' to retain the OE look.

Yes thankfully all's been well. Still quite busy thankfully. Guess you've heard I sold the evo following the course of VC and Keith. Very sad to see it go but rather take the profit now when not in trouble than get a pasting if I where in trouble. JC you didn't go with the movit set up in the end ?. It did seem an awful lot of money. Just about to buy something else pending an inspection on Friday. Want something that you can have fun with at more sensible speed. It looks like I actually might be doing a bit of racing this year. Baby Blue's going to lend me his 993 supercup car (only joking). Will enlighten you if and when it all comes together.
p.s. Ratboy if you'd had been driving a 993 GT2 evo it just never would have happened. Did you see what i did there wink
