Dani Pedrosa's only 5'2" and he gets on OK with a GP bike.

Mind you I think he has a kiddies 'toilet step' to get on and off in the pitlane...

Buy any bike you like and have the seat resculpted to suit.
At 5'8" I wouldnt have thought you had many probs. I loaned my old R1 to a girl I knew who was 5'6" and she had no problems, even with the rear ride height having been raised a bit.

If you have a look on review site such as MCN they give you the seat height if you want a point of reference. My mate has a new Hornet and it’s mighty low. I had the opposite problem to you when looking, I found allot of 600 sports were a tad too small.

Oi, leave me alone!

OP, I'm only an inch or so longer, sorry taller than you, and the R6 was a breeze. Also the GSXR750 was like a kids bike....have you sat on either of them?

No go, feet were about an inch and a half from the floor.

See this is what I dont understand why dont manufacturers realise that a lot of women are not that tall, and cater for this by including lowering kits as part of new bike sales.

And what exactly do you need BOTH feet on the floor for, 1 or the other will do...
I was asking myself the same thing...last bike I could get both feet down on was my old MT5 in the 80s

Hows about one of these? You'd probably be able to put your hands on the floor as well!

Redneck Engineering, primarily a frame making company based in Liberty, S.C., can build you a frame, or a complete bike, with a seat height at about 18 inches. This bike would run you between $34,000 - $35,000.

It's not overall height that's the issue, it's the length of the leg. Some people are short with long legs, others long bodied with short legs!Very strange the human race! smile
+1 yes I'm 5'11 with a 30 inch inside leg. The other half is 5'4 and i drive her car without moving the seat! hehe

Yeah, I know your right , but I do think the bike companies are missing out on ladeee market in the offer. But then I suppose thats a bit sexist isn't it.

I'm a short-legged 5-foot-five-and-a-half with a BMW 1200GS which takes us all over Europe. Mind over matter, that's all it takes.

To the OP, I'm 5'9 and I've been able to ride a GS1200 Adventure. Super tall, but you just have to learn how to handle it when you're slowing/stopping. I used to worry but after a few hours on my current bike (Kawasaki Versys - has about 820mm seat height) then there was no issue at all. You just have to go left or right side when stopping.

no you dont, just get a bit more confidence & slide to the side of the seat on whichever side your putting your foot down. i suddenly learnt to do then when i had a 125, i brought a traily one & didnt remember how high it was - que stopping at a junction & ending up with the bike at 45degreees before my foot touched down. after that it was no problem to slide a bit to the side & get my foot low enough.

its honestly not as difficult or unstable as it sounds, you get used to it within a couple of stops.

I can't help here I'm afraid as I could sit on a giraffe and still have clear air between me and it's back.
