What about his neck, the problems which stopped him racing for Ferrari for the final few races?

If his neck hadnt healed enough to drive a Ferrari for 3 races, is it going to be good enough to drive a full season at Merc.

Looking back at the coverage of MS & Ferrari earlier in the year, I think this maybe a rumour from Merc that results in lots of coverage and a very easy win for the Merc PR dept, but doubt he'll be back in an F1 car for a full season with anybody, let alone a none Ferrari team

Corinna Schumacher has taken her hands off from around it and he's allowed to come out and play again.

If there's truth in the rumour that Rosberg's contract means that the other driver doesn't get paid more than him, then I'd be surprised if there's truth in the Schumacher story.

Just give him a % of the team instead...

This story is quite funny.

Someone hears that Mercedes have bought Brawn

Someone adds that to the fact that Schumacher used to drive Mercedes sports cars.

Someone then adds that to the fact that Schumacher supposedly said he regrets retiring a bit and might fancy another go.

Someone then adds that he can get out of his Ferrari deal as it's just for road car development.

Someone then concludes that Schumacher must therefore be returning with Mercedes.

Someone hears this posturing and thinks it must be fact, therefore reports it. Someone else hears it, etc, etc.

AFAIK no-one from Mercedes or Schumacher's camp have even discussed the idea. It's just a catalogue of motoring journalists putting 2 and 2 together and probably getting 14.

If Mercedes want to keep costs down then buying him out of a recently signed 3 year Ferrari contract and paying him to drive, and no doubt be an ambassador for, them would seem very strange, and highly unlikely.

Almost as strange and unlikely as spending a couple of hundred million to field Rosberg and Heidfeld?

Is he not already confirmed for Red Bull? If not, that would be a shrewed move.
