I found even if I widened the search to anywhere, I still got no matches
Sad times
Anywhere in the world? Sad times

Whats your search criteria?.
The others I was only looking in the UK and it was a while ago, but I think I had pretty broad criteria from memory. It was quite depressing really

Now I just get matches who, on the rare occassion I feel it's worth the effort of manning the hell up and sending a message rather than waiting one, look at my profile and then studiously ignore me. I'm cursed I think

My only issue is that about 2/3's of my matches don't put pictures up of themselves and live in London. London's a big place and I'm not that desparate I'm going to go inside the M25.
One of the things I reckon would massively improve a lot of dating sites is if they deleted the option to put "London" entirely and forced users to name a borough. Screw the tiny number of people who live in the City proper. :-)Anyway, one thing I noted from (female) friends and co-workers who were in to online dating is the majority of them would put "London" as their address even if they lived as far out as Surbiton or Kingston, and I bet that trend goes right out to the fringes of the M25.
I can see your point as unless the profile gives any clues "London" on these sites could be anywhere between Shepperton to Loughton, and that's a big difference in driving distances. I guess if you have your location set correctly though they'll self-filter by not responding if you're all the way over the other side of the capital.
Can you not set the sites up to never show you people who don't have a photo?
Thought some of you soul-searchers might be interested in this - OK cupid has done a load of statistics on their database of messages vs. peoples profile pictures and drawn a load of really quite obvious graphs!

OK Cupid is quite an interesting site. I had an account there for a while.http://blog.okcupid.com/index.php/2009/11/17/your-...

However if there any real insights to be gleaned, these all reduce down to one inviolable truth: namely that 99.99999999% of men one meets internet dating are serial shaggers with hundreds 'on the go', or would be, given half a chance.

Of course Tonker you know all the details don't you
The reason he hasn't a pot to piss in, is because his ex got the house, the kid and the family....and for the last 7 years, he's paid off the mortgage on the house he bought but she has, as well as maintance even though she won't give him access to his disabled son.
He can't afford a car at the mo, so see's no point in getting his licence renewed, and as for the 8.45 thing.....I could be doing the same thing, but it's called trust. If you don't have it from the start of a relationship, then there is not much hope really.
