Naah. Word was he turned down $$stupid$$ to drive for BMW, I think schumacher would only make a comeback if offered a car guaranteed to be the best, a la prost for williams. Not to mention not wanting a team mate like Rosberg who I doubt would be a willing no.2.

Why not start a better rumour, maybe Stirling Moss to Merc GP? He had a bit of success in the Mercs you know..
Certainly more likely!

would be better than Kovalainen.
Even Senna would be better, not Bruno either.

Just a quick thought, do you think Bernie is supplementing Shumi's Mercedes retainer with appearance money of say $1M/race or maybe $40K a point? On the face of it looks like Mercedes GP got him at a bargain price but with Bernie chipping in it seems to make more sense, also very cheap for Bernie considering the upside

Also could the BRDC been given the nod that Shumi was coming back to help to close the Silverstone deal? EJ was adamant he was coming back, whilst we take most of what he says with a pinch of salt why would he set him self up to look a fool if he was wrong? The whole thing (including Button's move) seems to have been nicely orchestrated by the little fella. You couldn't make this stuff up!

Don't you love F1!

I've been reliably informed that this is indeed the case - not sure about the numbers though, but I gather it will be substantial.

Bernie and his empire stand to make £££ millions more as a result of MS' decision to race again.
