That is not about the one I posted, that is about Wispers the main house of the former school campus, St Cuthman's in West Sussex. Valued at 4-4.5 million and originally owned by the Duke of Bedford. Further down the page.

two things:
1) call me a scrap metal dealer and hand gold around my neck but I like this fake old house:
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...
i think it's done well

2) how the feck is this worth this much. unless you like the x-factor.
i like it. but how flipping much!

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

this is my sort of stlye (but location not great - although higher position realtive to road than it looks).

i would be so fvcking nouveau riche - i'd be out there right away looking for a symmetrical georgian rectory if i had the money! well actually i'd try and find an unlisted one that was an old people's home or something and stick a bit on the back that was modern like option 2 above!

there's often a lot going for these sorts of places.. they just need a bit of sorting out on the 'taste' front.

Not bad for the money, a bit of Tuscan influence perhaps.

"The approach is via security gates for three properties" - does that mean that the stables and outbuildings have been converted into houses? If so, it might not be very private.

originally it was up for more - i think (although not having anough money to care enough i haven;t checked!) that they're now selling in lots so the outbuilding will be sold to be converted. bit of a shame IMO if that's right but it has been up for a while...so...

..actually sorry you're both right this one is the one blighted by conversions. there was another one that was on edge of potterspury which was also compromised (A5) but not as badly as this. unsurprisingly that did sell and this didn;t! quite similar look though.

I like that. Fantastic opportunity to convert the equestrian facilities into a mahoosive garage too. And the decor isn't hideous, I could certainly live with it until I put my own stamp on it.

i do too. or rather i see - like you how it could be.

it looks like it's well enough positioned too!

the problem with a lot of these places is that they just need the chance for the planting to become established and for the building to weather a bit as well..

As they say Location Location Location. Apsley Guise is a very nice village. Lovely area, nice houses, no scum. Think of it as the Monaco of Bedfordshire. Hidden away it's not far from the M1 and mainline stations to London, close to the villages and estate of Woburn Abbey.

Just south of Stoke Gap House is Lower Lock Barn, very nice barn conversion with 4.5 acres, on the canal, short walk up the canal to Stoke Bruerne. £1.4million I think, check Jackson Stopps website, I'm on my phone at the mo.

I thought the same.

Has the potential to be stunning, but instead is a little to El Dorado
I think I could live with it...

Even if you had to keep that circular orange and cream couch thing? hehe

I think it that, plus the palm trees and "outside artwork" around the pool that did it.
