Worst MPG Vehicle you have driven?

This, without a doubt. Driven to the limit at the Ring I got, (wait for it) about 5mpg. Around town in city driving I get about 10 mpg. It is worse than any SUV I have owned. Fun, though.

Not bad considering its weight and the performance on tap.
They can do 20mpg+ on a run though (motorway), right?
My 993 Turbo can get 28-29 mpg on a restrained long distance run on the motorway and it will go down to 23-25 mpg on a more spirited run on an autobahn going continually faster than 80 mph.
Sorry but 20 mpg on a run is terrible and much like a pick up truck, let alone SUV.

No question..I have a 997RS also which is a bit heavier on gas, but even round town I get 18-19 mpg and about 24 or so on the road driving moderately.
Series IIIA Randy Lover (2.25L Petrol) 5mpg round and about, 10mpg on a run, 4mpg if towing the trailer with anything more than half a bale of polystyrene in it!
Wange Wover 3.9 V8 - dreadful 8mpg driving like the pope with a stone in his shoe!
Triumph 2.5Pi - 10mpg if I ragged it and upset boys with their more modern machinery. Normally 18-20mpg.
However, my "RV" - that's 32ft of American iron, 454ci of Chevy, and I get cica-12mpg (Imperial) towing my car trailer and not generally hanging about. That's the best part of 9 tonnes all up.
And racing machinery - the ASCAR used a litre a lap around Rockingham. Harry is a little more thirsty, turning in between 4 and 6 mpg depending on the circuit and weather conditions. But then again 700hp does require more coal in the boiler!
My Nova GSi used to do 8mpg on Micro Dynamics EFi, but when that failed and I switched to a DTA ecu, that rose to nearly 12mpg. Not bad for a 1600.

I never calculated its MPG but the V8 lump in my early 80's Rangy certainly liked a drink. Guage could be seen moving when pushing on.
Only car I've seen the gauge move UP on was a Jag XJ4.2C. In flight refuelling when you hit the change tanks switch.Edited by matchmaker on Saturday 21st November 11:03
I had a Maserati Biturbo for a (thankfully) short period, and I never bettered 14pg in that. Used nearly as much petrol as oil...
My Mercedes E320 coupe daily driver averaged 17 around town, and I got it up to 26 on a run.
BTW (and O/T), how long do you have to be a member of PH before you can start shouting "Troll!" at other people?

1.2 mpg on Vanquish S digital display whilst giving it full beans in each gear.
I can imagine a full on track day would give very low figures if really hammered.
What sort of figures do you get from the F40 and the Carrera GT? Stunning cars may I add!I can imagine a full on track day would give very low figures if really hammered.
They do dip dramatically when driven in anger but I haven't a clue what the fuel useage really is. I only knew the Aston's as it had the real time digital display showing (normal driving is far better to be honest). My CGT says I get an average of about 13/14, whereas the last thing on an F40 is a fuel indicator. Bearing in mind it also has no door handles, airbags, carpets, etc, etc.

This thread has made me realise that my fuel consumption is quite good!
On a track day last month, I got 9 mpg in the DB9.
My current average is 14.9 mpg.
